I did not play live for 1.5 years due to the pandemic. I got my 2nd Pfizer vaccine on April 6th and played my first live tournament in Las Vegas on Apr 22nd.
I don't know about other
casinos but in Vegas they were very strict about adhering to pandemic guidelines. Only 8 people per table, masks were required and strictly enforced, no eating at the table and there were plexiglass dividers (which I loved!) between every person at the table.
Chips and cards are cleaned and switched out frequently. They keep hand sanitizer at the table - everyone has to use it when they sit down or return from a break at the Venetian. No eating is permitted at the table - not even snacks.
When a player busts or moves to another seat their previous seat and area are sanitized and cleaned.
Being fully vaccinated I felt very comfortable playing live - however I refused to play until I was fully vaccinated.
This pandemic has been horrific and I don't trust other people to take it seriously because too many have repeatedly shown that they don't. But now that I am 94% protected against getting the virus and 100% protected against serious illness and/or death - those who are not vaccinated are the ones at risk and that is their problem.
