I recently played a 1/2 no limit hold em at my local casino and while the preflop raises were somewhat high there was one hand that was raised to 140. I don't quite remember what he had preflop but my question is with that kind of aggressive raises is there anyone else here who would just leave? Saying that there's one of two things, one while I know I'm getting better I still have a lot to learn and two I just got a better paying job but at the time my income to play poker is only 100 a month. Also I know about rich maniacs who has the money to blow but one person went broke twice and bought 100 worth of chips each time. The question there is knowing about bad beats and even if I have AA how do you play with Rich maniacs? I'm leaning just walk away what is everyone else's take on this?

Walk away, why? Seems like ideal situation, you got fish on your table. Fish with pocket full of money, even better.

You play tight and push it when you have monster hand.

Aggressive Preflop raise.

I guess what concerns me that even though I do have a hand like AA that it would put me all in for all my chips and I would have a bad beat. I'll be honest while I know you got to take some risks at times to get the glory my confidence is still building. That's why I prefer limit hold em but at the time they didn't have any running just the 1/2 no limit. In any case thanks for the reply.

I played in a casino once. I was patient waited 30 mins until I played my only hand. They raise all the time. So I ended up getting AAs. Said to myself I am going to double up and leave the table. So the preflop raises start 2 players raise it to $60, comes to me I had $200 so I was all in, only one of the players called of the 2. He had j 10 off suit, so I was excited and until the turn he ended up getting 3-10s and river wouldn't give me an aces. I will go to other tables now if players have deep pockets so they can rebuy.

If you are afraid to go heads up for your stack with AA then you aren't ready for no limit hold em in my opinion. You're pretty much 80%+ vs any hand they could have unless they also have AA in which case you're 95% to chop. There are very few spots in no limit hold em where you can be an 80% favorite or better. If you're looking for the 100% drawing dead spots then poker is not the game for you. I would definitely stick to limit until you are more comfortable putting money in the pot with smaller edges.

Personally, I encourage people to make crazy overplays like that. The biggest hand I won in my last live casino session was just that. Some guy was throwing around money and I made a stand with AQ. He had QT and doubled me up. While you may not be able to play as many hands while you wait for a monster they are giving you huge advantages when you finally get to play. You still wont win every time but it's not really about winning all the time. It's about making the decisions to give yourself the best chance to win. If you're more comfortable in a slower game then switch tables while you adjust. Also, since you have a dedicated poker budget it sounds like you should be less attached to your chips and more attached to getting it in good.

Play only with the chips you can afford to lose , cause if you cant afford to all in pre flop with AA its a big problem, cause the odds are so high in your favor , you cant increase your bankroll just playing hands with 100% win chance cause those hands are very rare , almost every time someone could have a better hand, except for royal flush but that hand is like big foot, heard about it but never saw it .

That's the dream table it doesn't get any better. I know where you're coming from though when you're a recreational player out on the casino for a night, and already in for the hotel and dinner too. I played a 1/2 where a player bumped it up to 14+ almost every hand, as an open not a 3bet lol. Bought in for 100, sat patient, and eventually shipped about 80 on him with AQs. Well his KJ got there and I didn't really fancy loading another 100...

You're playing not to lose. You need to find other players to cut your teeth with

Make him Isolate you. Obviously everybody is targeting him on the table, you have to make an effort for him to Target you in return so as to make the most out of it.
In order to do that, you need to find his weakness, as in if he has Hugh Ego, which most maniac usually has.
This is what i have done before.
Re raise him big, like 3x or even 5x of his bet whenever you have the nuts or really strong hand. And if he fold, show him the lower card instead of both. The objective is to tilt him, even though it's obvious you are showing only the weak to piss him off, but it always work.
Also, don't try to bluff maniac, especially the rich ones. Force him to call your strong hand, that's the whole idea to win his chips.

Another trick is, minor trash talk. Not too much, simple and short.
After winning a hand from him..."Thanks Amigo!" or "I love you Baby"
That will send him crazy ..lol

To conclude, when seated with Rich Maniac, play with his mind then play the hand.

If you are concerned about variance of push/fold, you can buy in for the minimum. But once you double up you are locked into long ball again.
