Hi guys,

I know the basic rules in poker. But when it comes to whoever ends 2nd or 3rd in this situation, I don't really know.

So in this hand where there are 3 final-table players going all-in and colour cards doesn't matter...

with player 1 (1million chips) has a 8-9, player 2 (750.000 chips) a 3-7 and player 3 (500.000 chips) a A-4..
On the table lay 5 cards, A-3-5-6-7

Who will become 2nd place... the best cards or the most chips?

Second place is the player with more chips before hand starts! Player number 2.
It doesn't matter that player # 3 had a better hand because player # 1 got them both in this situation.

This is 100% right!

Also just wanted to add that this is why the big stack can apply the most pressure to the player that is second in chips (particularly once you’re in the money and even more so three handed). :)

the second place is awarded to the player with more chips is the most logical since they are eliminated in the same hand

normally it is the number of chips that will determine who will take the 2nd place.

It is based on chips. So sometimes I will intentionally sit out, hoping the chip leader will take out the person who has more chips than me, so I can place 2nd instead of third.
