So I've been using the PT4 trial for almost 2 weeks now and while I feel like the program itself is quite useful for reviewing specific hands I don't think I'm getting the most out of the HUD when actually playing. This has me wondering If there are any stats I should be using that I'm not or vice versa. How do you guys set up your HUD to get the most from it?

In PT4 you have some stock HUD profiles for both cash and tournament players. I only play tournaments, but I use a modified version of the Tournament-Legacy HUD profile. You can also check out Blackrain79’s website, I think he still offers a download of his HUD set up for the micro stakes.

Theese are some of the HUD stats i would use.

VPIP (vulentary put money in the pot)
tells you how often a player put money in the pot, how loose or tight they is.

AF (Agression factor)
Tell how agressive they play their hands

Fold to 3 bet
Usefull tell on how ofte the fold to 3 bets.
Start 3 betting those with a high % more often

Fold to c bet
Usefull to know how often they call and fold to c bets.

Steals
Usefull to know how often BNT and CO stab a the blinds

3 bet
How often this player 3 bet

C bet
How often this player c bet

There are a massive ammount of data you can see, but try and go for the basics
and make good use of the info you get from it.
Dont put on too much as it will look confusing untill you get a hold of it.
Play accordingly and get the most out of it.

ALSO - the HUD is just a guidance :D

Think Minus272c gave you the most usefull(in my eyes) options allready.
But like he also said, stay in the beginning with the basics.
To many info at once can overwelm you.

My setup looks something like this:

Notes/Hands abbreviated/Player name/VPIP/PFR/Total AFq
3Bet preflop/Fold to 3bet/Cbet flop/Fold to Flop Cbet/Cbet turn
Att to steal/Fold to steal/WTSD/WSD/Live amt BB

To be honest I didn't like any of the default setups and I created mine ,I have most of the stats just numbers, without the stat name, but I know which number indicates what.
It will be also very helpful for you to have some coloring indication(loose / regular / tight) for the player. You can change it yourself manually in whatever value you want to be any color, they are fully edible.

Last but not least I have chosen the lower opacity option , it's too much for me to have all those colors in front of my eyes.

ps. I wrote the stats with their full description in order to find them easily. Sometimes if I want to check something extra for my villain's tendencies I use the pop up window.
