Playing poker brought me a personal issue and made me improve as a person and my game too, sometimes the pride of thinking that you will always be the best at everything you do can get in the way of how far you can get.

This pride got in the way of the game of poker, because when in some hands I thought I was absolute and I couldn't lose that hand, for example in hands like trips, I always lost to a straight or flush, this pride didn't let me see how much board was dangerous.

In my personal life this change was also for the better, recognizing that someone does something better than you is difficult for some people, poker helped me improve this key point to improve my game and my personal life.

I don't know about what poker taught me but there are a few things that poker has reminded me like you should have a good risk to reward to do something whether its play poker or a life decision.

Don't get so caught up in some dream situation like making life changing money or chasing some lifestyle you know little about when if you put just a fraction of your time into something else would make you better off.

Try to focus on what's right there in front of you and question whether things are realistically achievable instead of wasting a lot of time chasing unrealistic dreams.

There are usually easier ways to make a living than doing something you might be doing so keep an open mind.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket because you might find yourself doing something you don't like and regret putting all your time and money into something you grow to dislike.

Time is short. Before you know it, the folks you used to play hands with will have grey hair or will be gone, that casino you played at might be gone and you'll probably reach a point where you look in the mirror and will not be able to recognize yourself as you used to be so do things you actually enjoy and again focus on what's right in front of you.

For me, first of all, poker confirmed the saying - "you can't even pull a fish out of a pond without effort." Previously, as soon as I got acquainted with the game of poker and learned all the combinations, I immediately thought "a great game with the ability to win money easily"!!! But the more I played poker, the more I realized that without tedious analysis of distribution and not always interesting video viewing, I would not succeed in anything other than random winnings)))

First of all, patience. And of course responsibility. I never thought I'd feel that way about the game.

Fifty Shades of Grey?

What I’ve learned and what I should have learned are two different things. The question was about the former so here goes.

I’ve learned that most decisions that you make in poker and in life have a probability of success attached to them. I’ve also learned that there’s such a thing as implied odds. So if something is really important, the straight odds/probability may no longer apply.

Bottom line - life (in real time) is rarely black and white!

What I’ve learned from poker is I’m not as good as I thought I was at this game.
Also making decisions based on emotions with little thought isn’t always a good idea.

To say that poker has given me something big in life. I can not tell. I had enough perseverance and patience even before poker. The only good thing poker has done for me is that it hastened the realization of my little dreams in life in the form of money to buy some things. For example, part of the money for the purchase of an electric scooter was given to me by poker.

I think things like bankroll management, risk of ruin, and the power of position have real application in your everyday life.

Good question, what I learned from my poker experience it is a vast content of things. I will list some of the qualities that I learned from books and experience wich I consider to be a priority to be a good poker player:

1. A lot of patience - Especially if you are a beginner you will need a lot of patience to be successful in the game of poker. The road to success can be difficult, which is why you don't have to set impossible goals. Focus on the fun and enjoy each game as you gain experience. Hurry doesn't help at poker at all.

2. Be self-taught - In recent years, I saw that the level of players has improved considerably, as a lot of resources have emerged from which they can learn. Basically, it's not enough to know poker rules, you have to dig deeper. Fortunately, on the Internet you will find enough winning strategies, tips from the best players in the world and you can watch professional poker games on the Internet or on TV in such a way that you can see how more skilled players manage certain hands. In poker it is always important to study in such a way as to succeed in raising your level.

3. Temperance - Managing your budget plays a very important role when playing poker. It is not enough to know how to play poker if you do not have the calm necessary to make the right decisions. You need to know all the time to know when to take risks so as not to be the "fish" at the table. At the same time, it is also important to know how much money to allocate for a game session. If you are a beginner, it is recommended to play smaller amounts. You are more likely to meet opponents of the same level and you will be able to gain experience. In addition, possible victories will improve your morale.

4. Attention to detail - To be a good poker player you must also rely on distributive attention. It's not just important to know what you have to do, but you have to look at the other players at the table all the time. Try to always anticipate what cards they may have or what may come on the table. If you just think about making a surprising combination, you might lose the fact that your opponents can have an even better hand. In addition, constantly analyze how different hands played in such a way as to find out if there is someone at the table who has a habit of bluffing. On the other hand, you can induce the idea that you have some good cards and take risks. Be careful that this strategy does not always last and you could suffer a significant loss, which could exclude you from the table.

5. Managing Emotions - It plays a very important role when playing poker. You always have to be calm and make the right decisions. Nerves don't help poker at all, you won't get better cards if you get angry. Howeover, if you play at a live table you have to know how to hide your feelings in such a way that other players do not realize if you have a good or a bad hand. Precisely for this reason, many professional players play with sunglasses, a hat or a hood pulled over their head. At the same time, you don't have to play too many times when you're tired because there's a pretty good chance you'll make bad decisions. Play responsibly and don't forget to have fun.

Hope this may help, wish you all a blessed day!

I learned from poker and put into practice the following thing in my daily life... even if today you lose something important you don't have to give up and think that tomorrow starts a new day and you have every chance to do everything again in such a way as to erase that loss

You have to focus on long term success, trying to force short time success will hurt you in the end.

We can say that poker gives us life lessons. Some of the situations that we encounter at the poker tables are similar to those that happen on a daily basis, and successful players are those who can handle all the variables while achieving their goals in other areas as well. Be good observer, take risks, long-term thinking and good financial management. As in life, in poker, when you spend more than you win, the balance becomes negative. Therefore, any investment must be well planned.
