I've searched through poker terms and absoluthamm's 1k post HEM stat guide and found a section talking about all of the different CB values but none define what CB stands for.... Sorry I'm still trying to get a grasp on my HUD but the default one has CB as a default field and I'm confused.
Also with search function CB is so ambiguous and googling
what does "cb" stand for poker and other variations of quotes has failed to yield me an answer.
DG is correct but the question still warrants a bit more explaination. I'm assuming your new to the game and might not fully understand what a Continuation bet is and why s.o. would make one.
When you raise pre-flop your making a statement to the table that you have a strong hand. If you get called it's important to let your opponent know that your hand is still strong after the flop and that if he wants the pot he's going to have to fight for it. Usually they won't. This play becomes even stronger when checked to on the flop by one opponent. That said, it's important to know when not to CB (see, now we can use the abbreviation ;-). One example might be when you when you raise pf and s.o 3bets behind. You really need to hit your flop to continue. I could go on forever on this subject and indeed much has been written on it at this site alone. Now that you know what to look for I suggest you search the forum for the term. Maybe someone here can recommend a good thread. GL.
Ah ok. Thanks everyone =) I've seen and pay attention to a Cbet was but didn't know that was the term for it!
Man I'm learning so much stuff in just a few days this is awesome. Used to play B&M games at a local casino and did relatively well just playing TAG $1/2 fixed games but after reading stuff here and more books it shows me how little I actually knew. Good thing I'm playing in my BRM bracket >;]
