That guy who keeps raising and raising and raising each and every hand? You know he can not possibly have the type of hand he represents all the time. You finally make your stand with 55. Now all of the sudden he actually shows up with AA. Now you are either busted out or your stack is crippled depending on you stack size prior to the shenanigans.

Obviously this is part of the maniac jackal's style. This works for the jackal. It keeps you unsure and frustrated. Eventually you are going to make a stand. Some of the times you are going to pick the right spot. On the other times you are going to be met with the harsh reality that although the jackal can not have a monster each and every time he raises, there are going to be those times he does. Aside from a physical tell that you might pick up in a live game you will not have much to base when a good time to make your stand is other than the two cards you have in front of you preflop.

What are your hole cards shoving requirement when you are playing against a maniac jackal who shoves with just about every hand?

When playing freerolls you get a lot of them. Although I know that most of the time they have nothing and it "should" be an easy way to gain chips, I still don't play that loose against them.

Perhaps, there is nothing worse than a fish in poker, not possessing the basic knowledge. A player in such circumstances continues to rush and go on the warpath.
Empty pocket aces a player goes all-in for preflop. Small pocket pairs – another weakness. Only the participant is given "cherished" couple fives as he prepared to embark into battle.
And let the table clearly shows the picture in the form of higher total vapor, fish and doesn't understand why he failed to become owner of Bank.

Truthfully, there are many fish in the poker world. Especially in freerolls.

I am dealing with it. I am on this site, and I started this thread to see how other people tend to, "deal with it" when they are in the situation. Poker is a game of decisions and those who consistently make the best decisions at the table will consistently make the most money. I would like to read about what others do and how they adjust their starting requirements to play against the as you say hyper-agro. Maybe someone will say something on this thread that gives me a new perspective and a new outlook and then I will be able to exploit the mistakes made by the hyper-agro who are not balancing their range.

I was in a tourney with one of those the other day. He was going all in with any two cards whatsoever. One or two would call him every time and he managed to build quite a stack for himself very quickly. I folded every hand, until I had the hand that I was comfortable enough with betting on pre-flop as I knew it would come to an all-in. Managed to take a piece out of him. Then the table turned a bit. He continued going all in and slowly others took more pieces out of him until he was gone. I think the main thing is to really pick and choose the cards you play against someone like him. You could try to play any anything and you might win but that's not a good long term strategy.

It happens that, the player whom you consider a maniac at the moment, just an ordinary player. It so happened that he was lucky with the map. Of course, there are opposite cases. Pisces and super-aggressive players are also enough at the table. It takes time to determine the tactics of the player.

Sometimes super aggressive players will slow play a good hand - only min raise instead of big raise or all in. That could be a tell they actually have a good hand.

I love playing super agro/ maniac players. Because eventually they will make a mistake and I will be there to cash in. Always allow them to take the betting lead and give them the rope to hang themselves as they WILL do so giving the opportunity.

I agree with what most of you are saying. I guess the best way to play against this type is to pick a hand that you think is decent enough to get involved with the hyper agro player and go with it. I mean you get a chance to see what cards are in their range when they showdown some of their shoves.

Today I was playing on a satellite at Club WPT, and there was a hyper agro type seated at my table. This one in particular would find hands that the majority of the table limped in on when he had position. Then when the spot presented itself he would make an outlandish raise. The raise would chase most people away for the most part. When he would get a caller or two he had position so depending on the flop and what the callers did post flop the hyper agro would just shove and then the remaining players would usually fold. He was stacked enough to where even when he took a hit from a caller he would still have enough chips to do it all again and by doing so it wasn't log until he was stacked again.

I waited and waited. I played a couple pre flop hands against him here and there taking hits to my stack from calling his massive pre flop raises, and then being forced to fold on a bad unconnected board. But then it happened. I got involved pre flop with 67s. I flopped and open ended straight flush draw. I checked to his position. He bet large on the flop. I called. The turn completed my flush. I checked, he bet, and I called. Then a blank on the river. I fired all in. He insta-called with his top pair hand.

The next hand I was involved in with him in was AA. I called a short stacks all in bet trying to make the pot nice for the hyper agro player. It worked he re-raised me. I shoved he called. The aces stood up to both the all in short stack and the hyper agro player's hand. That was the hand that took him out.

I ended up finishing in the prize field. Now I have a $1000 guaranteed tournament in about an hour that I won my way in to tonight.

I adore such fish, I'm really crazy about them when every raise is made, just wait for a strong hand and play it through a stake or a little raise, put a fish hook on it, kill it a couple of times and start all in with A2 or K10.

I have been having that problem myself lately in the BOL freeroll tourneys. For the first half hour most hands are all in pre and its just a slot machine pull from there. If you play good hand selection and don't get frustrated you will win in the long run. Sometimes your premium hand will lose to a 6 - 8 off or a J4 suited but thats poker. And in my case thats freerolls.

I know these guys and call them pre flop all in sukkkers. 3 k!!!
But most of the times I get them. Or someone else does. But they all will be gone sooner or a little later. U have to be patient and wait for the cards, position is not that important since there will be ai. But try to get him 1:1 And 55 is no good, no matter what he hits will almost everythig kill U
QQ+ is my suggestion for Range, AKs is nice as well
And don`t forget to write him a decent GOTCHA when U cllect his chips
