re: Poker & The way I see it
It's a self control and discipline problem. I've been struggling with it for a long time. But for me, whether I win or lose I want to go up in levels. For me it is definitely viewing poker as a chance to make a living and not just a hobby. I get very conflicted, I strive to play high stakes because I know low stakes won't make enough to earn a living, but by doing that I'm not a winning player.
If you figure out how to overcome this, let me know. Something I tried a few times but gave up on because I just lost patience is what I call ladder play. You start out at the lowest level and, once you have the min to move up, you use only that money and move up to the next level and you keep climbing until you either get to the level you want to be playing at, or you bust out. But if you bust out, you've only lost the lowest level buy-in, so you've still got a ton of bankroll compared to the lowest level buy-in to try again.
