I have some serious tilt issues which is making me a break even player
I win 100...200$ and next day i lose and then i win in one session and lose in another.
This has been going on since i took a break and then played after 2 months.
I get impatient, overly agrresive, and i automatically play fast. quick check quick bet.
I play omaha hilo and this impatience is not letting me study and review my game as well.
I am 100% sure that i know what to do in a hand but this mental barrier is making me frustated.
I get tilted so easily now even after losing a small pot which was not the case some time ago!
Now i keep looking at bankroll section after every small session.
I have been playing part time poker for like 3 years and thought i will try to turn it to full time playing at 2/4.
But this mental barrier isnt helping me.
Is it me only? What should i do?

Sounds like you have a Result Oriented mentality. Which is causing you to tilt. When you lose, you go on tilt because all your hard earned profits from the day before is now gone.

My suggestion seems cliche but seriously just relax. Know that poker is but one big life long session. And that you CANNOT CONTROL THE RESULTS.

So what can you do? Simple, keep playing the best poker you can. And trust in the long run you will be ahead cause you making good plays.

Good luck!

Just good bankroll management stay at the sane levels for a period of time dont just move stakes because your winning for a few days. Also have a loss limit but dont limit winning days if your winning play until your luck runs out. Losing days pick a set amount and things shoukd begin to balance out

It seems you know what you need to do.

Not let individual pots affect you. You should also not focus on your bankroll from day to day or even week to week as it can swing both ways especially playing Omaha varients of poker.

Play within your bankroll limits and just play and the results will come if you are in fact a good player. Check the old BR once a week or even every other week.

These things can help fight the tilt but running bad can tilt even the most solid people after a long dry spell.

Try not to tilt, if you watch amazing players like bencb789, they don't tilt.

You have to realize, that the Edge of a good player in online poker is a lot smaller than most people assume. In mikro stakes you will pay a ton of rake which pushes down your win rate 10bb+ and in higher stakes, there is a lot of other good players that you won't have a huge edge on. everyone has loosing and winning sessions, the diffrence is made if you loose a few big blinds less in the loosing ones

Hello.
I recommend that you develop your own bankroll management system and strictly adhere to it. First, you must clearly understand what amount of spending per day is acceptable to you. Secondly, under no circumstances should you go beyond your limit.

I see your argument, however the whole point is to control the results.

That's why we study. That's why we analyze hands. That's why we practice. That's why we discuss strategy at Cardschat & other forums. So we get good enough to do exactly that - control the results over the long term.

Part of that is accepting the short term losses. We know when we go all-in with a fantastic hand there is almost always a chance that we will lose. Often there is absolutely nothing to be learned from a big loss. Often it is just the other side of the odds equation taking effect. But that doesn't mean that we aren't controlling the results. We are. We know that we will win nine times out of ten (for example) by making a certain play. One time in ten we know we will lose. We know this and therefore we are controlling the results.

As long as we know the odds and take the right action when we choose to stay in that hand we are controlling the results over the long term. We know that we will lose the hand one in ten times (for example), and over the course of a lifetime that figure will pan out. We are controlling the results over the long-term knowing full well that in the short-term hands often do not turn out as we would like.

So yes - relax. But don't convince yourself that process is the goal. It isn't. We use process to control the results, in other words to win over the long term. Keep playing. Keep improving. Take control of the results.

Every player tilts its how you respond.

I myself don't respond well simply because too many swings mostly bad ones.

One of these days I hope I won't go broke ever again.

Yes every player tilts sometimes, but try not to dwell on bad situations, shake it off and go get em next time :)
