Play every hand independently of every other hand. It's a very difficult thing to do, but you gotta realize that besides for the chips, every hand is completely different than all the ones previous. Take a deep breath, relax, count to ten, punch something (wait did I just say that) and then continue.

Usually I break things to get anger out, not a great idea though. I think the best way to get off tilt is just taking a little break and going for a walk. It's easier said than done though, whenever I am on tilt all I want to do is keep playing.

poker stars has a option you can click into that excludes you from gambling on their site for 24 hrs up to 180 days. Requests-->Responsible Gaming. I don't think anyone here's actually used it, but I'm sure theres a nice message that pops up saying you're not allowed to play. lol It might be a worthy option if you know you can't stop.

thanks for the link. I copied it and put it on word. I think if I just take the time to read this when I do start tilting by the time I'm through reading I might be calmed down. At least calm enough to decide if I should continue to play or not. :D Just a thought

Just try to talk to your self when u start making bad play and u know it . Try to explain loudly why at that moment you are folding raisin or checking. It is gonna help u to find back to your old good play . When it doesnt help poker break :p

Take a walk to the bathroom and turn the sink on and put some cold water on your face. It will cool you down real quick. Try not to think about what just set you tilt. If this doesn't work then leave the game if you can. I know you can't leave a tournament so the only thing I recommend is that you take a few hands off.

It's very difficult to advise, because in this state I just quickly fly out of the tournament. I do not know how to control this. I can not do it. You can all fold and then probably get to sit in the tournament longer.

The hardest thing to do is just stop for a while.

Just take a break. Sometimes even 10 to 15 minutes are enough to calm down (usualy after loosing big hand) and sometimes you should stop for the day (for example if you are on loosing streak). If you are still in the game but tilted fold the next few hands or even sitout for few minutes till you calm down enough to start playing again your game.

Watch some Phil Hellmuth videos, and you will see, what you are look like, when you grow old continuing to tilt. Hahaha
No, seriously, YOU have to accept bad beats as a part of the game. It always happens and it happens to everybody. You get so many bad beats that you don't enjoy playing poker anymore? STOP playing for today, tomorrow's another day. You will not get rich in one day, but you can definetily get broke in one day.

Take at least an hour break if it's possible, take inventory of your emotional state and reassess whether you are capable of making good decisions again. If not just take the rest of the day off, no point in playing if you are making mistakes and are in anguish.
