This is a discussion on Is tight necessarily 'safe'? within the online poker forums, in the Learning Poker section; While it seems safe to play tight, is being so naked to the opponent a safe option?
Must mix it up between Loose and Tight or
I find that the really tight players are one of the easiest types to play against. They are easy to steal from and easy to bluff. If they do play a hand aggressively I run for the door unless I have the nuts.
yea true u gotta change style, specially later on in the tourney
if u keep playing to tight ppl will notice and simply fold most of the times
if u really wanna play tight bluff once in a while and show them your bluff
ppl will get irritated and calling u easier next time btw i'm no pro far from that
so i might be wrong but i think it does work for me many times
I think the game/table you are in is a very important dynamic regarding how to play. There are tables I won't open anything but primo, won't cbet bluff without equity. There are also tables that I am bluffing loads.
I think adjusting to the game, and your opponents is what's really important.
Defining tight play as just playing premium cards will be easily discovered by the players at your table and you will not get payouts for your hands.. mixing is more effective and using different playtricks will let you be not so easy to read for your opponents
