You must be braindead if you don't want ppl calling your KK or AA with J3 off lol. Dude if they are willing to see a flop with that junk (after youve raised 4xbb of course) you win already lol. Youre making a +EV decision while they lose an ass ton of money over the long run.

Cobryn: I wasn't serious about the verbal assault. Obviously that would get you thrown out of the casino, make you look like an ass in front of others, and maybe also make them start playing more rationally. But, if you are the one that they suck out on you can always stick pins in dolls that bear their likeness!

I say the stupid players are welcome. In the long run you should do fine. The only thing about stupid players is when they get lucky and bust you late in a tournament when you see them earlier double up with 67 against kings or something.

above.Think about what you are saying. Seriously, think about it.

You want to ban all of these 'stupid players'. Why? Because they rely on luck? Because they happen to get lucky sometimes and beat you-even though, mathematically, that is bound to happen? You want to get rid of the players that basically pad your bankroll and make you profit. That's just brilliant. Really brilliant.

So, I guess you'd rather player better, smarter, never-make-mistakes players and hardly ever make any profit. You might make some, but it will be significantly less than what you make off of bad players. But thats fine, because to you, the object of poker is not to make money.This. And everything else he said.

How do you know what I was about to say:) ?
And how do you do the mulitple quotations?

Bad players are to be honored and treated with respect

...and courtesy. I have even seen other players compliment bad play so as to encourage more of it. It's a smart move, you should try it sometime. You would be amazed at how, once in a while, you find folks in a cash game who will reload and reload jusst becuase other folk at the table are being nice to them...long live the Donks!

There are two cures. Either you move up buy-in levels so you play against better players. Or you'll have to adapt do your current level. I know the feeling as you describe it, and what I try to do is to not play too many hands on lower blind levels, and if I do, be prepared to fold if I suspect that my pre-flop monster (A-Ks, etc) is being beaten. Also, you could try bet a bit higher amount on each street to give your opponents worse odds for their draws. However, some players don't know about odds and play like it was no bet 5 card draw and still suck you out. Well, not much too do, but eventually most of them will go bust and either learn to play or quit. So my tip is to make your opponents pay a higher price for their draws.

I know what youre saying. Especially when you've spent countless hours in a tournament to get knocked out by this donk who hit a four outter with all of his, and your money in there.

Let's be honest here, what else can you ask for but all your money in with the best hand? Odds are you're going to win that situation way more then you lose it. It sucks, I agree, but I will take a domination preflop all in every time and just know that it's going to get cracked sometimes.

Slugger, I agree with you completely. Whether you like his tact, Hellmuth speaks the truth a majority of the time. And secondly, his rants are just for venting, they're usually used to set up a later play. I haven't seen one situation yet where he's gone off on someone he hasn't been able to get back at later on in a tournament or other game.

Yeah Hellmunth's rants are used, partly, to help control the table. They are pertly there to get TV time. People like watching him go off on one.. and TV time = sponsership.

He is a clever guy and his wife is a psycologist so Im sure they have discussed ideas that he has tried at the tables.

playing against stupid players is just part of the game. i just wish they would acknowledge their bad play after sucking out and apoligize. however, most times they try to defend their play with stupid excuses.
