Do you think Spin and Gos can be lucrative in the long run? Is anyone out there that play them and make money out of it?

And if the answer is yes, what do you recommend as a study for these? What is a solid strategy for spin and go?

Thank you

I personally don't like it, I think it's like playing the lottery, but there are players that are doing very well.

Spin and go's are not lucrative as most of the time I get a net loss on my bankroll.

They can be lucrative for sure. Look at Rakeface’s thread in the Challenges section of the forum, he posted some Spin and Go strategy and he has s Youtube channel

I do not think so. These formats are not really playable with this structure. Well, that's nothing to me, but there are certainly winning players here as well.

There are players that are winning long-term in these, but yes it requires a lot of advanced studying and ability to multi-table very well. The edges in these games is very thin, which increases the variance, so playing a ton helps winning players not get lost in the tilt of 500 games downswings that would feel very long-term to more casual players.

Just to add to this combination of advice and warning. (That I agree on).

I saw some graph simulation of players with an expected ROI of over 2% some years ago and after 1000 games the majority was still losing money.

Another simulation of players with 5% ROI (very good winning players) showed everyone winning after 10 000 games but at the 15 dollar buy in their earnings varied between 500 and 10 000 dollars.

It was first after 100 000 games they all showed a steady profit but still a lot more for them that had hit big multipliers.

The combination of short stacks and the multiplier for pay-outs can make the long run very long.

Beatable - yes. But it is very hard to predict for how much and after how many games.

100,000 games is an awful long time to find out if something is profitable or not.

Variance here is brutal. Not only you are playing shortstack in a hyper turbo format, but also the randomness of prize pools has a distribution that implies millions of games to mitigate variance. Maybe you break even on most games, or lose slightly, and make a profit difference when you hit big jackpots. Its like tournaments, you compensate for your steady loses when you hit a big win or a final table. Well in spin and gos probably you compensate the steady loses when hiting and winning big jackpots.

I think that to play Spin&Go for profit in the long run needs proper bankroll because the dispersion here is huge. In this game much depends on luck.

I think it is a lottery, so for me, I always lost more than I won.

Hi.
These tournaments are for players who want to get quick results. I think they are more like casino games and therefore may not be profitable in the long run.
Good luck.

Hi man, yeah them could be profitable but just playing your best game in the long run, because the rake of this class of games is too much, for example pokerstars take a fee of 10-15% for this games so you have to beat not just the other players but this high fees too, but there is people doing this. In order to be profitable you need to win 38% of the time in this games. Cheers.

There will always be a very small percentage of players that actually find consistent profit in the format by having a specific edge relevant to the format that huge majority will not have.

But, otherwise I'd just play it for fun and not making it a way to earn money in poker. It is fun and quick. But in small dozes.

From $1, I made 120$ playing spin and go. It's really a question of knowing your opponents as soon as you can, surely with a little luck on it too.

it’s safer to buy a lottery ticket than to play this poker format

he has players who manage to be profitable on espresso. I love this format even if it is really hard to master. you have to be patient and try not to tilt when the variance is not on your side. when I'm out preflop position. I limp if I do not have max hands. it is essential to manage the style of your opponent's games and try to anticipate their mistakes to take advantage of them. you must always try to play each hand in the best possible way. playing this format helped me a lot to improve my game. the experience I gained there enabled me to better play in the final table in the MTT. personally I stagnate most often in terms of earnings but sometimes I can go up to 60 dollars playing on espresso at $ 1.

hi hi

on twitch if you search OP Poker... there a group of PokerStars pros that specialize in Spin & Gos.. they also have content (videos & articles) that discuss Spin strategy & tactics
they claim that spins can be very profitable, which they back up by their own statistics
if solely play spins, trick is need large volume of hands
if you read their material & study.. is vital know nash equilibrium, which is complex but are push/fold charts available.. PokerStars also has lessons on spins in their school (its all free)

playing spins has helped me better understand... short stack, 3 player & heads-up play
what i been do, for each poker session i commence play three spins at $1-$7
i start $1, if win go up, if i lose i go down... after total 3 games i quit and start tomorrow at the level i left off at (example i at $3 for tomorrow)
i am not a winning spins player (EV) so far, but $usd i close break even, plus it fun
with some gambling wait for high multipliers - could be 2 million!
if you enjoy try this PM me and we can relate weekly how we each doin?
