No, I have not seen this puzzle before. I do work as a manager of an analytics team. One of the things I try to continuously get my team to do is to look at each issue from multiple angles and not come into project with pre-conditioned ideas. Make your solution fit the data, not the data fit your solution.

Same applies to poker. You need to be able to see all the different interpretations of a hand to understand how your opponent is playing it. Even if your opponent is wrong.
