Hi!
Say there are 10 players on the table. Player 10 is the dealer. Next to him is player 1 (small blind) then player 2 (big blind). So would players 1 2 3 4 5 be called early position? Players 6 7 8 would be called middle position and players 9 and 10 late position.
Say there are 5 players on the table. Dealer is Player 5. Next to him is player 1 (sb) and player 2 (bb). So would players 1 2 3 be called early position? Player 4 would be middle position and player 5 late position.
Thanks, Archie.

player 1 and player 2 in both situations would be called just blinds. Small Blind and Big Blind aren't early positions. Just blinds. They act last in 1st round of betting, but first on flop, turn and river if there are still involved to a hand.

in 1st scenario ye..3,4,5 early, 6,7,8 middle, 9,10 late. But in poker we call it utg, utg+1, utg+2, mp1, mp2, mp3, cut-off, button, small blind and bigblind.

in 2nd scenario it would be 1 small blind, 2 big blind, 3 mp3, 4cutoff, 5 button. It means 3 would be a middle position and 4 and 5 late positions. We just cut early positions and middle if there are less players. Just read some article about positions on internet. There are many. I hope I helped you a bit.

and just to make sure you're aware, UTG means Under The Gun, and MP would be Middle Position [emoji1360]
