Because i really saw some winners on live games counting them cards ,thinking on how many outs how many left...

My favorite post flop hand to play is middle pair with 2 more of the same suit as your pocket cards on the board and an open ended straight draw when you know your opponent has top pair! All in ASAP with the lower pair! A call from that guy every time...

20 of the cards left in the deck will make your hand with 2 chances to come (9 of the same suit, 6 more would make your straight, 3 more would give you two pair and 2 more would make trips).

This hand gave me a winning bump more than once when I needed it.

BUT NOTE; As far as purely mathematical games go, it was more important that I KNEW that guy had top pair. I KNEW when the risk was appropriate watching him bet. Mathematics help but you can't stop there.

I would rather say that poker is a mathematical calculations and luck is on the second place.
Chess players are always good poker players.

Yes poker depends on luck a loot, but that s why pro are conquering the game . Because they learned the keys ( bluff , losing time , never getting emotional, know when to fold... ) . So yes luck plays a major part in the game , but experience and méthode to play does too .

"Poker is a game of luck" is what losing players usually think.

This was very hard to understand but I do understand the title. Poker clearly is mathematically based. Luck is just a term that defines the slight mathematical probability that something happens in your favor when the odds are against you. Math is always involved. That being said, Luck is part of the game, that is part of the joy in the game.

I'll drink to that:
- if I win it was good play
- if I lose it was bad luck

If I get a Royal Flush, it's not math, just luck.

60% mathe and 40% luck I think....

Poker is 100% math based . there is now way arround it :D

Luck is a term of how the math favored you or not.
When that mathematical statistic outcome decide to give the devil across you
his blipping gutshot on river we call it luck.

If your poker math skillset is low, your bound to be more on the unlucky outcome
in the long run. (unless your gifted with other skills)

Even when your highly skilled in math, you only have a certain ammount of percent to
win and loose a hand. You dont get hit by supernatural interference.

Math is a fact - Luck is a feeling :beerglass

it's actually a bit of both since you have to analyze your chances a hand sometimes that can appreciate very good that can actually be weak and bore the strong factor is important in some hands that you play
