Can someone explain why EV called is taken as [(Total pot * Our hand equity) - Risk] and not just [Total pot * Our hand equity] ? Also can we do it using the equation Ev= F($Pot) + C (%W * $W) - C (%L * $L) . Have attached the image below, its from the book Modern Poker theory
