I've been a player for approx. 1 year and a half in pokerstars but with play money, and I would like to start playing for real money, and I do not know what steps to follow, some advice and if it is advisable to do it in pokerstars.
Thank you!

pokerstars is a good choice since they have lot of micro-stakes options. GGPoker is good too AND they give you a free $0.25 "Spin & Gold" ticket every day if you become "verified" (i.e., provide them with ID & residence documentation).

first a question normally at pokerstars has some freeroll right? have you already achieved within that time by playing some prized place? if you didn’t get my advice, it’s not the time for you to play for real money because I’m already winning 1st place in several freerolls and I still don’t feel elected to play for real money ...

Hi and thanks for the information regarding GG.
I signed up there a few months ago and have an account with some money in it from my initial deposit.
I can not recall having to provide identification. ( not at poker stars or 888 also )
I also did not get any daily spins when logging on. Do you have any advice? do you think because I did not provide ID I can not qualify for the spins?
Thanks for your time.
Regards,
C.

StreetPhd -

Free rolls are your avenue to entry.

Regarding GG, they changed their verification policy this month when they registered in the Isle of Man and now all members should provide proof of ID (verification) other wise you will run into future problems. As it is, you are not eligible for the daily spin if you are not verified.

However, you are on the right track here. Double your posts and you will achieve access to other CC freerolls at Silver level. Gain Platinum level in a month or so and you will have daily freerolls available to hone skills.

I embarked on the exact same journey and am very happy with the first year (now behind me) at CC.

At pokerstar there are several freerolls, you can start building your bankroll.
As they told you above, GGpoker gives you one Spin ticket per day.

Good luck

First of all, I would decide whether I would play cash games or tournaments. Then I'd start with the lowest blinds in the cash game (1/2 cent) or the smallest buy-in in tournaments ($ 0.10 and $ 0.25, respectively). The bankroll should be at least 100 buy-ins, preferably 200. :) Playing freeroll tournaments on the side is also an option.

Never invest more than 10% of your income or an amount that is easily disposable and you do not mind losing in poker the high rake percentage on Pokerstars under $20 buy ins, tough opponents and variance makes it a lot easier to lose than win and profit in the long run in this game there.

Pozdrawiam,
C.

Didn't even have to show your ID to PokerStars? It is very strange that when a deposit is required it is required. If you manage to win a tournament and you want to withdraw money, support will want to see a proof and a bill (to confirm your place of residence). If you hit the jackpot, I advise you to contact the support before the withdrawal, if everything is ok to withdraw the money. Sometimes they can freeze the account and it takes a little longer.

You can start playing for real money, on any site with which our community cooperates. PokerStars is a good choice, but for a start I would recommend you to create an account on 888. In my opinion, this site is ideal for beginners because it has a huge number of daily freerolls.

Exactly! You won't see the free spin option until you submit two documents: 1) ID, e.g. driver's license, passport, 2) proof of residence, e.g., utility bill, bank statement. BTW, even though your driver's license has your address, they won't just accept one document - has to be two. I know it's confusing but that's their rule.

To do this, click on the Cashier button in the right panel of the lobby:

That will launch a webpage. Then click on Settings/My Info in the left panel of the webpage:

OR, just send both documents to kyc@ggpoker.com. (kyc = know your customer)

I suggest achieving cardschat platinum status and then slowly build a bankroll from freerolls. From there try to make money gambling small amounts and if you lose the small portion of your bankroll that you risked...go back to just freerolls. Repeat process until you can make money consistently at microstakes and so on.

playing for real money can be more difficult. opponents are much tougher. Of course, it is always right to stick to proper bankroll management and slowly go to the top, but I know by myself that it is impossible to win a lot without risking a lot. Do not be afraid to lose and lose the bankroll, otherwise excessive caution can play a cruel joke on you.

I'd recommend you to start playing freerolls, like cardshat ones. When you fell a bit confortable with them you can try some sit n' go's, some 1$ tournaments, etc

That you've already been playing for more than 1 year means you are completely familiar with the interface of Pokerstars. It's a quite good point but play money and real money are totally different. With real money, even in micro tables people are quite serious, but in play money tables people are not that serious and they can easily recover by free chips given by Pokerstars, though in very high chips of play money table people are quite serious, too. Anyway you've already practiced enough time. Now it's time to have real fight. Wish you luck.

The most important advice is not to start gambling with your personal money. First, save up money on freerolls, and then you yourself will decide which funds you use to play for money.

Sites have amended policies in recent times. I had never had to show any ID to open any account or make a deposit prior until this year.

The best thing to start is to play freerolls then if you do have money play at small tables or tournaments with small buy in. If you have the cash and the guts you can go to the big games. ;)
