Yes, it sucks to wait on the higher quality cards. Often, I attempt to play tight, however, I cant do it very well... I would rather be loose at the table than to play tight...
I never won much by playing tight.

I'm wondering that the downsides of playing tight is more psychological than logical

Playing tight logically and statistically will give us more winnings

But mentally we get bored at the table and can commit mistakes or become so tired that we give up

It is possible to play as tight as you want, why not? It is possible to play only pocket aces, but by the time you are dealt pocket aces, your stack might be very small due to all the blinds that you kept paying.

In tournaments blinds will eat you before you get your long-awaited AA.

Sometimes to play random hands is fine to make your game more complicated. Sometimes.
