Hi all

First time poster!

I'm having massive amount of trouble overcoming tilt, it's driving me insane......I feel like when ever I get in with the best of it I always lose and it drives me wild. I've just spewed off $180 on stars after taking a few bad beats at 10NL and now I've just tossed off my entire bankroll in. $1-$2 HU cash game! Wtf

Does anyone have any tips for curbing it and not going out of your mind?

Whoa! Sounds rough.........

Variance is just a part of poker, just because you get all the money in on the flop or the turn doesn't entitle you to the pot until that last card falls down....it's a game that totally demands you think logically because if you don't you become your worst enemy and in this case it was your bankroll which took the brunt of it!

I would suggest you take a few days out, watch a few films, meet up for a beer with a few friends and forget about the game for a few days. Let's face it, the game of poker isn't going anywhere you wouldn't be able to reach it.

I use to suffer from tilt pretty badly but you just have to change your mindset. Try picking up a copy of Jared Tendlers book and watch a few youtube videos. If you sign up to www.audible.com you can get your first audio book for free and Tendler has narrated both of his on there. I think the single most impressive resource I used to rid myself of poor mindset was a programme called www.tiltarmour.com which I though was excellent and still review it from time to time.....

The most important thing at this moment in time though is to chill out and take a break from the game, you will lose more if you play in a negative frame of mine!

Good luck anyway!
