Omaha verses holdem

Which do you prefer? Starting to play omaha more it seems to help me learn strategies better for holdem too. The odds are appear to be higher in holdem for chances for top pairs to win and it has made it easier to lay down a huge pocket pair in holdem when sensing it is beat. What are some things you learn in omaha that can be used in holdem? I stay away from hi/lo too many people shoving with nothing on cash tables.

To play regularly as my main game I've been partial to holdem. At times I have dabbled in other games including Omaha and have found them to be a great way to get a break from holdem. They also have helped me to develop hand reading, live tell and discipline. Mostly playing in home games of dealers choice with friends has been a fun and cheap way to learn.

I absolutely love Omaha hi/lo but don't play for cash. I just can't handle the swings. Sure is fun as hell though!

I just play Omaha for fun. But there are even fewer good players at lower limits so there is much more free money floating around. The swings occur much more often so if i started to grind omaha i would probably go with around 40 BI for the limit i am playing.

I noticed some free buy omaha in the acr lobbys coming up too. I figure that is good practice. We have it at the live casinos it is fun to mix it up from time to time. Learning the strategys is a process for sure though.
