I'm aware of the "100bb rule" to move up stakes, but my question is what's a reasonable period of time in which you can go from, say, 1/2 to 10/20, assuming that you dedicate 3-4 hours every day?

I'm just curious to have a more realistic expectation in case I want to try poker full time.

Are you talking about live cash games? Terms like 1/2 or 10/20 are typically used for cash games with blinds of $1/2 and $10/20 respectively. In public casinos its not that common to even find games as big as $10/20, since many larger games have become invitation only. However the "100 BI rule" is for MTTs, so there is some confusion here, which you need to clarify, if you want any sort of helpfull answers

MTT has 100 buy-ins If you are talking about a cash game, you need to have $100 to play MTT calmly without worrying, but if you are talking about a cash game, you need to think even more because the game is very fast and you you can lose faster. or win

MTT i'ts same as already fundiver199 told you 100 buy ins, because poker is a distance game.

Yeah, sorry I didn't fully explain.

I'm talking about online cash games. I've read a rule that says in order to move up stakes you need at least 600 BBs as your bankroll. 100 BBs is just to enter a table, sorry about the confusion.

So my question is basically, what's a realistic timeframe to move from $0.01/$0.02 to $0.02/$0.05, then to $0.05/$0.10 and so on, assuming 3-4 of study+play per day?

I think, there is some sort of misunderstanding here. Maybe your source meant 6000 BB rather than 600 BB? 600 BB is not even enough to play a session, if you multitable. Having 6000 BB for one stake before moving to the next is reasonable. So for instance $120 before moving to 5NL and $300 before moving to 10NL. As for time frame it depends on many variables like your winrate and how much you multitable. But probably at least a year to move from 2NL to 20NL.
