Is it okay to avoid playing pairs of 2,3,4,5,6 and 7 ?? It's hard for me to pay at the FLOP, TURN and RIVER to get to the trio.
How wrong am I? And what do you do in those cases?

I think any experienced player would say there are no set rules. There are way more variables than just the cards you hold.

If it were that simple Poker wouldn't be the amazing game that it is, and would probably be completely dominated by bots.

I fold those pairs unless I am in the big or small blind.

I see ppl go crazy with them all the time. They are a coinflip against two overcards and they are a big dog vs larger pps. I rather go all in with ak against unknown cards.

In my opinion you can play small pocket pairs (22 - 77) if you have a lot of chips at the beginning of a tournament - it doesn't cost much to call a small raise or limp (just call the big blind). If the set (three of a kind with a pocket pair as the starting hand) does not occur, which is usually the case, you can easily fold the small pair when there is a larger bet of an opponent (especially if there are 3 higher cards on the board and several players are involved in the pot are). I hope this helps :)

I make these pairs I think every experienced player knows that they simply don't carry cards, especially when they can't see you on the flop

I usually just check, play passively and after the flop I'm out. If someone makes a big raise preflop then I'm out too.

Low couples are more dangerous because your eye dont care about any 2 or 3 and if someone has a pair of aces you show a set of 2s and barry him

Top pairs are easy to play because the strength of the hand removes the need to pay special attention to factors such as pot odds or position at the table. Competent drawing of small medium pocket pairs (from 22 to TT) without taking these factors into account is impossible. The weaker the cards, the higher the pot odds should be and the more profitable the position should be to enter the game. Knowledge of poker math and preflop principles is essential.
A general law for small and medium pair owners: if someone has already entered the hand with a raise, then fold. An exception can be made for a couple of tens (TT). Dozens are profitable to call if two opponents have already called the same raise. Another important rule is that if you get an aggressive response (reraise) to your raise with medium pairs, fold without remorse.

I raise 2bb or more on any small pocket pair depending on my stack. If anyone has raised before me, I will call within the limits of the stack size. Further according to the circumstances.

+1 There are so many variables to take into account. There are objective ones such as effective stacks or ratios and then there are even psychological ones such as the opponent play-style or tells if you can spot and interpret them. Poker is so much more than just your two hole cards in the hand, so it makes this question tough to answer. :D

I see ppl go crazy with them all the time. They are a coinflip against two overcards and they are a big dog vs larger pps. I rather go all in with ak against unknown cards.

Correct again, in large part because people sometimes overplay the low pocket pairs. I'm sure blueskies knows what I'm about to say, so I'll re-word it for the op and everyone else here. What is basically being said is that smaller pocket pairs are less likely to realize their equity by showdown.

wut? ;)

That still sounds jargon-heavy. Rewording it again, let us imagine we have a low pocket pair like pocket 4s. Say 4 of hearts and 4 of diamonds (4h4d). Okay, sure; I think everyone knows their hand is probably good if they hit a set (three of a kind with a pocket pair). What happens when you don't hit a 4 on the Flop though? That will be most of the time!

If the Flop comes something like:

5hJdKs (5 of hearts, Jack of diamonds, King of spades, rainbow Flop [all different suits])

or

2c6hAs (2 of clubs, 6 of hearts Ace of Spades) etc.

now is our low pocket pair any good?

Hard to say. Depends on many factors such as our position or the player tendencies we face, but just by the math alone - someone probably has us beat. Even if our low pocket pair is ahead now, overcards are basically every card (since our holdings are low) and we might be outdrawn - worse, we might even get bluffed off of the hand! For this reason, many players just won't deal with lower pocket pairs at all. Some play them, but instantly fold to any bet if they don't hit a set on the Flop. Some adapt based on position (playing more pairs in later position), but even here there is no way of knowing for sure if the hand is good. Even if you hit your set, you can lose to a better hand and a low pair needs to even think about higher sets the opponent may have hit (although unlikely).

Sure, the same could be said for AK - Villain might hold AA ;) However, it is less likely hands like AK are crushed and the player might convince themselves into continuing in the hand. This is the tip of the iceberg, but poker isn't so straight-forward.

I usually just check, play passively and after the flop I'm out. If someone makes a big raise preflop then I'm out too.

Probably the most popular way to play low pocket pairs. Poker is too complex to say if this strategy is best or not, but it depends on many factors. Perhaps that is what makes the pros better than us; they all seem to have studied the game (or simply have so much experience playing) so much that they almost intuitively know when to adapt and go against the general principles of what we expect should be doing.

About the only time I play with these is early in a tournament when the blinds are pretty cheap. I am not gonna try any funny busines when blinds are 600/1200

Low pairs are actually great and very easy to play, especially in multiway pots.
If you hit your set on the flop, likely to get all of Villains's chips. If you don't hit your set, then fold. Its that simple.

Really, small pairs also represent a big problem for me, I don't know how to play them very well and the number of defeats is greater than that of victory. I would appreciate any advice.
