All of the best players are very accurate at solving for what the “optimal” strategy is vs the opponent(s) in each hand. It’s one giant node locking experiment. Studying optimal poker is extremely important because you need a baseline and fundamental understanding of how things work at equilibrium.....

The interesting thing about poker is the number of different situations that come up, making it impossible to learn how to play perfectly 100%. What I do believe, though, is that in addition to focusing on probabilities, you also need to focus on the type of person you're playing against to find the perfect move.

.... this is how you know you're playing poker, poker is math based but it's also player based,

I constantly see posts of players crying about losing to "some donk"...

meanwhile if you press them a little about what makes the player a donk

their answers generally reveal a very different story, poker isn't just

what cards you have or hard and fast rules... good post👍

Studying poker has to be mixed with practice... with that comes experience... nowadays on the internet there are free and very interesting materials... analyze the hands that were played and try to find your mistakes, this helps a lot in the evolution of a player.

HOW do you study optimal poker??

This is both simple and complex I will state the simple-- the person making the "correct" play is not making the correct play. they are placing a template on a situation rather than adjusting to the situation---simple example if Villain GTO should have bluffs but has no bluffs on river and you can only to beat a bluff. Your correct call is not correct. V define their ranges we adjust to those ranges V define their actions ---calling station- Weak tight folders -wild bluffers we adjust to those actions if we only adjust to ranges but not to actions with those ranges we are incorrect.

You do not really want to be result oriented because you can make the correct play and not win the hand. Or you can make the correct plays and not win the game.

Its best to focus on just making the correct play. If you make the correct plays you will win the most over the long-term.
