How would you play Q8 suited in UTG +1 early in MTT Would you just call to see a cheap flop, raise and if so how much, or would this always be a fold?

Might minraise in a weak field, especially if there are rebuys and all that good stuff

but probably just folded as a default, there are much better hands to be getting involved with.

Check out this video for a little bit of help on the topic

Suited Q8 at the beginning of the tournament, and even in early position, open only with inactive opponents.

Thank you for posting

Early in an MTT we are playing deep stack strategy which means we play hands that are not easily dominated. Q8s is crushed by AQ KQ QJ QT AXs KXs all of which our Villains will call a raise with. So playing for a big pot with 1 pair is not good for us and our table position puts 5 players IP vs us.

Q8 is also not a good multiway hand and most MTT's play multiway early so limping it is very dangerous as well.

It can be played but it is a win a small pot -lose a big pot or fold to any bluff hand most frequently when UTG1
LP limp or raise is ok but the same still applies as to being dominated with top pair only.

Hope this helps

It all depends on the situation.
For Q8 in that position, it's usually a good idea to fold.
