I open rise preflop, and see the flop, if i dont take a set then CBet to see the turn, if someone else raise to me, i fold.
If i can see the other street pay cheap i gonna go for it, playing carefull.
Check is the ideal move for a small pair.If not the BB then I would only call a raise on the button (so I can see how many players are betting and who is raising) if the raise is no more then 2 times the BB.Folding with a small pair is usually best preflop for me,I tend to never flop a set the last few days
Usually i play my small pairs one of two ways... if im deep stacked 30+bb i like to try and have a multi way pot... my theory is if u hit a set 33%of the time and u got 2 or more people in the pot with you then its a win win now when im small stacked say lower than 12bb maybe 15bb depending on the pair im just open shoving for the most part
In late game i think you must play them like 90% of the time because if you have like 10 BB you don't know if you will get anything stronger. If you have like 10 BB it's all-in, if you have like 25-50 BB it's raise.
Sometimes 3bet is fine option too, especially in position. But as others hands, I dont like set-mining without position, because it is sometimes not easy to get value from your set.
I'm so afraid when I am to play pocket pairs . I'ts making a set or overpair on flop or fold most of the times .I really need to learn playing better with them, raising when necessary , not get scared on flop if there is an overcard/paintcard on flop . I really need to study/learn more .
