Hy everybory! I'm a beginer and Idon't know how to play 99 pre flop.What advises can you give me?

It's a halfway decent pair, so if you feel good about flipping you've got a better than 50/50 chance of beating AK or AQ and of course any other pairs 88 and below IF you can get one player all-in. You don't want to be playing it for stacks pre-flop against more than one player or any really tight players (who are only going to go all-in with AA, KK & maybe QQ).

It depends on Stacks Of Effective, and opponents, sometimes the Call will be good, sometimes the 3bet / Call will be good, identify the villain to make the best move that situação, hug. GL

I play it for stacks deep in a tourney. When deep stacked I use it as a hopeful overpair or set mining. It probably is the best hand pre-flop and apparently is Phil Iveys favorite hand personally I dont like any 9 hand in holdem it makes the dummy end of the broadway straight too many times for your entire stack.

If I am deep stack set mine or play slow. If pressured by blinds it is a decent hand to all in with or steal blinds.

From early positions pocket pair 99 is played passively, and try as cheap as possible to see the flop.You can call a standard raise, if you are playing in a position. If you come to the right flop, you will have a pretty good disguised hand. If the stack is short, then you need to put all-in from any position.

These terms refer to the situation that you go all-in and get 1 caller; so head-up (HU), 2 players.
Using the odd-calculator you'll find that with in the above situation with 99, pre-flop (before the flop) you will very often have 40-60% change of winning.
The 40-60 can also be 49-51, which is very close to 50-50, which is the chance when you throw a coin and bet on which side will be up when it lands.
Example 99 versus AKo is 55-45 is called a coin flip.

I would like to say that I play 99 stronger than I do. But, I usually play them like I am trying to catch a set. I see a flop as cheap as I can and hope to flop another 9.

Definitely a hand you can raise with to get a read of where you are at in the hand. It's good to be careful also though with 99.

There's alot of hands out there that can outdraw you like 10J, 10Q, 10K, JQ, JK, KQ, A10, AK, AJ, AQ.... And 1010, JJ, QQ, KK, AA.

That's already 15 hands that can crush you. It's worth it to see a flop for cheap but come in for a small raise to get a read and try to hit a third 9, or a small flop.

Since you are begginer i will try to explain you the easiest way...If you have big or decent stack and you are first to act preflop reise 2.5x or 3x and if 3-4 or more people call your reise and flop comes something like A,Q,2 or J,10,5 etc.. just give it up dont bluff(maybe call one small bet on some boards) co its big chance that somone hits something and your bluff needs to get throught 4 or more people..If you get only one or two callers you can fire a bet on the flop (if you hit 9 for value,if board doesnt have card bigger then 9 or somtimes only 1 card bigger then nine also for value,if board is scary for your 99 you can still try to take down the pot becouse your bet only needs to get throght one or two guys).If somone opens preflop before you and you have 99 and decent stack its litle diffrent..If somone has opend from early position i dont mind just calling with 99 becouse people often open strong hands from early positions ..If somone has opend from cutoff,button or small blind positions you can 3bet them preflop or even go all in if their stack is a lot smaller then you.Also if you opend with big stack and other big stack 3bet you dont go crazy and push it all in,,becouse you have big stack he has big stack there is no need to gamble..If short stack go all in to your open you can take that gamble becouse it will not cost you much and you have decent hand(ofc you can fold if you have some read on that guy that is so tight)..And when you have short stack just go all in with 99 if you are first to speak..Also if somone opens before you from early positions, and you are sure he is not tight player who only opens very strong hands from early positions all in is also profitabile.And when somone opens from positions like cutoff,button,small blind always go allin with 99 if you are short stack.I hope i help a litile

If you are in lp and nobody has raised to much I would play the hand and hope
to hit a set.

if I am in early positions ... I bet 3BB .... and if I am in middle positions and nobody has made bets I bet 3BB ... and if I am in late positions and someone opened with 3BB I call ...

A good hand that I will play through bet / call. I can play 3bet against an aggressive player, not letting you turn a set on the flop such hands as 44-88

Welcome to the forum. I think the best thing to do here is to forget your question, because soon you open another topic asking how to play with 33. I can suggest that you see the format you play 6max 9handed and learn the recommended hands of pre-game. opening the flop. After that, you'll understand one thing. example in mtt if a player opens 99 at the beginning of a utg tournament you save this information. then you see that same player open 55 in the same situation, now you already know that this player is very loose and thanks to his initial hands learning. and pay close attention to it also if you're opening 22+ preflop hands, then it's time to know that those who pay attention will exploit it. Triple bet.All-in only if you have 5 big blinds or less.

Its worth playing for sure but early doors in a tourney proceed with caution as many with call with paint esp suited KQ and others..

I would peel a flop and continuation bet from there dependent on number of callers, if there was a maniac at my table i would expect anything but its a decent hand with a lot of potential..

99 is tricky because any broadway combination has 2 overcards to your 99. I would pretty much always open 99, and hope for a low flop. Don't go too crazy with 99 as it's just a medium pocket pair!

what should interest you most is to eliminate as many villains as possible preflop, this maximizes your chances of winning, having a clear strategy on the flop is crusia, check raise, check fold, raise, everything will depend on the value of your hand in the flop, if the flop is favorable bet strong these hands recommended that they win on the turn as the last play the river can be fatal to your hand.
