Was tidying up and got all of my poker books in one place and realized that I have 25. Is this normal? They are all underlined and highlighted with comments written in the margins. Was wondering if that is a normal amount of books to have and if you highlight and take notes in them. I don't just read a book one time and put it away, I go back from time to time and go over it again to stay familiar. Do you treat your books like a shrine or use them the way that I do?

I ve read a lot of them but they just help beginers. All of them say the same things, but without them I would really not have learned all things I know nowadays.

I don't have any, when I started playing poker I learned the rules and how to improve my gameplay by searching the internet or watching videos on Youtube.:)

I used to have loads of books and yes Ive learnt a lot from them. However reading without loads of practice equals 0. Now I find most of the books Im interested in online, so I just use my kindle to go through them. Currently Im trying to learn more about Limit Holdem, and as soon as Ive built a decent bankroll Im going to start practicing. In my reading I get to a point where I feel I need to coordinate what I learn with play

Beginning players should carefully choose training materials. There is no universal method of gambling. It is impossible to find books about poker that would introduce you to all aspects of the game. Some authors specialize in caching, others prefer tournaments. Some are experts in psychology, others are well versed in mathematics, personally I don’t have books at home, I haven’t read them for a long time. You should pay attention to popular poker literature. These posts are a must read for every player!

Too many. The real question is "how many were good enough that made me go back to them time after time for advice?" Very few. Verrrrrry few lol.

Normal wear and tear on my books except for Gordan's little books because those are hardcovers but I don't highlight books. When I used to travel to the casino I would put it in a book cover and a zip lock and read it sometimes while alone before a session to stay focused.

But I really don't like marked up books. I buy some of those old books from the poker boom that I didn't buy new back then and I wouldn't be happy if I got someone else's marked up book.

i have 2 poker books . but have only read both partially

i think reading books in general (not only poker) is a very good thing to do . i am planning to read more . unfortunately i have never been much of a book reader . but i think it has a calming effect and is a good way to use your free time to be honest

I copied Gordons Little Green Book and use the copy to highlight and write in. I think that this is one of the better books that I have.

I like reading, but I'm extremely selective when it comes to buying books. The ones I do buy are the ones I really treasure and read/re-read (poker and non-poker).

Years ago, I got by with just putting my book collection into my nightstand, but after it slowly overflowed to a pile next to my bed and over part of the room, I eventually got a bookcase to store them all.

I'm not going to count my poker books, but probably only about half a dozen of my books are poker related - perhaps less. There are simply many other resources for learning poker (including online, videos, courses and so on). I like poker books too, but this isn't my only source of information; like I mentioned before, I'm very selective with my books, but once I do purchase them, they are keepers. :D

I've been like since even when I was a child - I still remember browsing the school library for what felt like forever just to decide on a book to read. The positive to being super selective is that I usually really love all of my buys :)

I have not read and do not own a single book on poker. I don't see the point in it, because there is really a lot of training material on the internet.

I have around 10 books. Some of the books are outdated but some are useful. Modern Poker Theory by Michael Acevado is the best I have in my collection.

I am thinking of investing in solvers now, instead of books. Solvers seem more helpful in understanding complicated situations.

I love books, I read a lot. On average, I read 2 books a month. But I never make notes in books, I treat books very carefully and respectfully.

Have books helped or hurt poker?Everyone sees the answer differently. At first glance, the appearance of a large number of good books about poker has helped casinos and card clubs a lot:it seems to me that thanks to them a lot of new players have appeared.I have few books at home, but there is a book about poker-Roy Rounder "Easy Poker Math ".

I have two books about Poker, I learned a lot from the first one, the second one helped me to understand the rules of the game better, but I really learned in practice
