I found online player stats like sharkscope and pokerprolabs very useful, they show you how often you get itm at which buy-ins. I felt like I was doing good, but when you see the percentages it puts you with your feet on the ground again!

they only show mtt and no cash game earnings... if you want to check your stats a HUD will really help.
