How do I combat or change a bad table image I've created?

It's a very close nit, tight, always the same 7-20 player, casino game I play in. 1/2. I used to crush but haven't in months. I've been in a bit of a "run bad"/variance slump-- which has, at times resulted in playing poorly.

I'm 29 years old and I look younger than I am. At the risk of sounding like an arrogant clown (but so you can understand my table image and give me good advice), I'm a decent looking young man, that wears nice clothes and looks like your typical 'cool guy' poker player.

My appearance used to (I thought) afford me some of the big wins I would regularly take down. I used to tell my friends that my shades were my "call inducing glasses"; I would simply sit and play a solid game and the older players would regularly pay me off because I looked like a wannabe pro going for the big bluff-- in reality, I was just value betting.

Idk what the hell happened but lately I've been getting tremendous amounts of play back a my spec hands and I can't catch a real hand to save my life. Everyone thinks I'm donkcity-- they used to fear me.

I've tried to nit down to CONVINCE these guys I'm playing solid but every time I do catch a hand the calling stations outdraw me (due to my appearance/table image I feel).

Maybe not. I loved the way they used to call; but since I've been running bad, I want folders. I want steady gains.

How do I makes these guys fear me again? Can I change my image? Today; I'm sitting here waiting for a cheapo ($45/field of 30ish) weekly tourney to start-- I came straight from work; still wearing a tie. I need to be taken seriously. This slump has to end. I need to rebuild my BR.

Anyone ever experience this? Older players that have seen this? Anyone? Help an aspiring player out.

Thanks grinders!

Don't change the way you play if its been consistently profitable for you in the past.maybe try a different casino for a bit so you are a fresh face and people wont have a read on you.

Also don't dress like a poker player. Dress like a gambler. Dress like somebody who thinks its a good idea to play the power ball. Talk about how you love to chase straight draws and flush draws. If they think you're a gambler they will call you down. This is a good thing. Just pay attention to the board and pay attention to your opponent for tells. If a possible straight or possible flush comes up and they change their posture they probably have it. Sympathetic body language (like they are sorry that they are about to take your money) usually means they have a monster. If you don't think they have it, and they think you like to chase flushes, you can represent the flush.

You don't want to be taken seriously, you want them yo think they have an obvious read on you even though they dont

Lol this gave me a chuckle.
You might just be over thinking all these irrelevant variables

If those are the same players, they have a read on your ranges and possibly lines by now. If you are willing to pay their raises every time they bink, you are the fish now ;)

There are different ways to construct ranges so they are decent but have different board coverage. This way when you play range-appropriate poker you can actually induce mistakes.

If the players are mostly different, then I would say it is not an image problem at all.

Head on over to Turtle Creek and play live with a group of new players, maybe you will see something in your game as you reflect on the session. Perhaps you have changed something and dont know it. Also this will give you a good way to hone in on a new style. Maybe you just have to adjust to the others knowing your current style. Something is amiss, you just have to find what it is. Do you ever play anywhere else? If no, that may be part of the problem...comfort zone tells maybe, who knows.

My advice - mix it up somewhere else, have an 'out-of-regular-poker room-experience' and see what happens - you will see the light by the end, I promise.
