Today I had to practice patience ughhh!!
Like 9th position 100 people left and two bone head plays out the tourney. So I guess you can look at ways to figure out what we could have done differently to help ease the tilt.

If you play long enough you will have thousands of incidents like your OP described. If you get good at the game they will not tilt you because you will come to understand one and two outers and runner runner draws are all part of the poker fabric, and those days can last for weeks.:)

when i get tilted by sick bad beats like that i usually step away from the table and let myself sitout a couple of hands, just to get back my focus to the game.
If you continue playing while on tilt, you make bad decisions and judgement.

My answer will be the same as in thread about lost motivation
More alcohol, bro! And the game become interesting again )

awesome advice! :congrats::beerglass

Seriously speaking, just relax, leave the game, rest and get down to a new one. And remember: luck is always with you!

Train your mind reading poker books and always be thinking positive, that way you will overcome the tilt

Play as skillful if a game I can play but remember gambling and luck is involved. Played so many free rolls the last two weeks I have seen just about everything. Yeah I know my hand was better but oh well. Play a little tighter closer I get to the money..

When you are on tilt, read this "Tommy Angelo" , works once or twice then you will have to look for another way to fix your tilt :)

I agree with others - don't play while tilted and get your mind off it. Try watching youtube videos of 'bad beats' and know it's part of the game. As bad as you think your bad beat was I think it is safe to assume there are those who lost X times more and in more sicking fashion.

Till this day, I think I have the worst online bad beat story that trumps everyones.
Could you please share this story?

Pros usually play many tables simultaneously and don't care about bad beats... While they are losing with AA to AQ on one table, they may have hit the flop with 78s on another table. Look at it from another perspective: if you are playing right, you will lose more with the best hand pre or post flop than the ones playing wrong, simply because you won't be playing wrong hands with negative expected value, and bad players will. If you are winning those kind of hands it is you who are playing incorrectly. Regards

we all know this one don't we?
there is an all in you are way ahead of them they hav like 1 or two outs but still somehow they manage to win the pot. any advice on how to remain calm?
kind regards
gilian :)
You mean I'm not the only one this happens to?

My advice, bask in the glory of that hand that you played incredibly well yesterday when you (well, me) managed to get a guy all-in chasing a flush while you're sitting there with Quads.

Very good point if your only playing top hands you are going to have to lose with those hands sometimes. Makes sense. This is helpful. I play some iffy hands sometimes because waiting on just good hands requires patience. Getting better on patience though. Very helpful advice thank you.

I too play multiple cash tables. The nice thing about that is you don't have time to make decisions about iffy hands - you just throw them in the muck and only play the better hands. It's really quite rewarding. If you think about it, those iffy hands hit AND end up making you money maybe once in a couple of hundred times. Most often you catch some kind of crappy hand on the flop that just ends up costing you even more money. Thems not good odds at all.

Good stuff. I have been falling in love with those iffy hands some times. I only remember the ones I win not lose or give up just a lil to many chips on.! A silly iffy hand not worth it.
