Or

8 spades 9 clover 10 clover J diamond 3 heart

Welcome to Cardschat kpc,

I assume that this is a serious question ??? And you are talking about Texas Hold'em ??? or perhaps PLO ???

The first option of the two is the better five card combination. It has three of a kind. 555.
The other combination has no value. 89TJ3 is worse. If it had five card straight, say 789TJ or any other, it would be better.

But we really can't say that the other "hand" is better since there is no hand to talk about between the two. In Holdem it would not be possible to have a situation in a game where one player has totally different five card combination than the other player. And if you are talking about PLO then this question lacks information.

As Nafor pointed out above, there's a lack of information in your post, but at first glance, it looks like the first hand is the winner with 3 of a kind (5s). Unless there's some trick hidden in your question !

I think it would be helpful to see the board and to know what game you are playing, the hands by themselves don't mean much...
