Full Ring

I have just discovered that there is something called a Full Ring game.

1) Why is it called FULL ring?

2) Is there any other sort of poker ring game?

Its a Cash game table that isn't 6-max. The table can hold 9 players. Thats why its called Full Ring

Correct. FULL means any single game that is not a tournament (or SnG which also a SST) or has the max number of seats avail, like 8 for stud/razz, 9 or 10 for HE/Omaha, etc.
