What are best ways to stay focused when playing deep tournaments?

I play music or throw on twitch. I don’t mind having things playing in the background and it helps me focus. Twitch is good for helping with boredom during the first few hours of a tournament session. Music is great for narrowing my focus and sweating out those deeper runs.

I used to play chess, so have an attitude to be focused for a long time, you may try it

I use to play music a lot when I play poker, it works for a while, but then gets abit distracting. I tried playing poker without anything extra, other than the table volume, and I was more successful. It’s weird, I have to find what works at the time.

I actually put a yellow sticky on the bottom edge of my monitor that says Focus. Crazy as it sounds it does help to get me back on track when my mind takes a vacation.

Try to visualize yourself making the final table or getting in the money. This gets the adrenaline going and prepares me for my next tourney.
