Understanding position is very important. Playing those positions can be incredibly complex when you're not too sure where you're sitting and that's a problem!! You should KNOW if your position is safe enough to play your cards. Leaking chips is not recommended, correct?

When studying poker, you should be adding "position strategy" to your arsenal. Pocket Aces play differently in positions EP1 (early position) and dealer button. People tend to fold AJ off in EP2 (early position 2) than LP2 (late position) , correct? The smartest players know that you NEED position to play your cards, either to trap or value bet, to correctly understand the magnitude of survival.

PM or check out profile if you want more info xD

Thank you for posting.

Your concept of understanding position as it relates to the hands you play is a very important aspect of good poker. The example of AA however was slightly incorrect. Your top 5% of hands can be played strongly from any position. It is when you have weaker hands that position becomes much more important. A10 or KJ for instance.

If you play these hands from early position the skills you need are: board reading: player reading and relative hand strength.

Relative hand strength refers to how strong your hand is vs Opponents possible hands.
e.g. you have KK you think it is a strong hand but your OPP has AA.
e.g. you have KK the board is A49 your OPP who never bluffs bets pot.
