So I have a theory on showing your hole cards.

If I win a hand before the turn or before The Showdown, and it's a good hand a monster hand like AA KK AK AQ or even hit top pair..., and the playeers fold, Then I will show my hole card to show them that I did have them benat when I made the BIG bet, I will show the hand to show them that I am not bluffing when I make a big bet.

My theory is that if I do this consistently winning hands with big cards and showing my hole cards, that if I get into a position where I want to put my opponent off his hand (when I want to make a bluff) I want them to fold, if can make a big bet therefore they have seen me make big bets and having a monster hand, that they will fold if I make a big bet with a crappy hand with a bluff.

But I think this will work if you play it completely opposite. Where you make a bet and they see a couple times that you show your cards and you were bluffing, then when you actually do you have a big hand and they think you're bluffing, then they won't think you're bluffing and call your bet with your Monster Hand.

So me, I do show my hole cards which ever way I play them. And I see that most people never show their hole cards no matter what they have.

So do you show your hole cards if so or if not why?

No I dont show, and I even have the poker client set to auto-muck, so I dont get bothered with this question again and again. Showing is free information, which can be used by your opponents in many ways, you might not even think about.

Do not forget that this tactic only works when you are sitting at the same table for a long time and other players have the opportunity to closely observe your game. Otherwise, all your actions will go unnoticed.

Also if you are playing the micros, its dangerous to believe to much in a concept like "table image". You might think, that your opponents have noticed your every move for the past 30 minutes and will fold to your big river bluff, because you have created a tight image. But in reality a lot of them are not paying any attention to your actions because:

a) They are beginners and unable to focus on anything besides their own two cards
b) They are regulars playing 14 tables at the same time
c) They have been watching Netflix or Pornhub the whole time
d) They are 10 beers in

I usually don't show my cards. I observed that players usually show cards when his big bluff has succesfully gone true.

Sometimes this can throw weak players off balance. Piss off your opponents and let them make more mistakes!

showing Cards

Never show my cards either with the winning hand or not. Even that ACR has brought back that option I still don't show my cards . Think it is nuts some players show their cards when they win a hand when bluffing. When I see this I'll make a note of that players play.

As they say " need to pay to see em LOL

Good luck all ! :D

Whether it shows it or not, I don't think it will have much effect on it's play results.

i show my hand only if i made a very good bluff to either tilt the opponent or just to boast lol , or to show him that i am a bluffer so i will get called when i actually hit something big ! ,

and sometimes i also show my cards if my opponent shows me his i will sometimes show him what i have when i find him/her to be a sympathetic person especially when there is a nice chat going on in the game
