do you always discard 72 preflop?

I really like playing with pair 72s, depending on the blinds of course. because it becomes a surprise effect after the turn of cards.

It's your money, waste it as you see fit. By the way always & never are words that are seldom if ever needed in poker discussions.

Hello brother
I don't think it's appropriate to play with the worst hand in poker, but anyway, if you want to, go ahead.
I'll tell you an anecdote, when I first started playing online poker back in 2003, one of the first hands I played in a tournament was 72 in BB and the flop came out 227 on top of the river it was 2 hahahahaha
I said to myself uffff this is easy, I think that until today I never won a hand with 72 again so imagine
I never play it unless I check BB
A hug:):):)

In fact, I think that always and never are words that would rarely serve life.

@rdwr33
Back to the point... except when I played cash games and the bluff hands that showed 72o, we got 1 blind from each player at the table, I don't usually use this line much.
It's an indisputably weak hand, but it can win like any other. AA loses to a 72nd more than 10% of the time. It's scary!
In poker your cards will only matter at showdown... what do your range and actions represent?

If you play MTT for example and showed a solid image throughout the regular phase. You could play your 72o (preferably in position because we won't exaggerate) as if it were an AK or any other strong representation.

Even with all that said, I ask.
Is it even worth winning a pot to show a 72o at showdown?
I then the simple fact of going against the odds should already represent an impediment.

I didn't think 7 and 2 could be considered a pair :)
You probably meant pocket cards.
As for me, I never play with such rubbish.

If you have players in the blinds who always fold then7-2s is playable as ATCs are.

I have to be with a really big stack.
I usually just waste chips.

I only play 27 in a few situations, for example being in the blinds and being able to see a cheap or free flop or being in late position and with the possibility to steal the blinds.

Depending on the situation, it has a lot of value.

99% of the times I fold, I don't even try to steal the blinds in a good position with 72.

If playing online poker, 7 2 is an easily winnable hand if you are the big stack on the table. For some reason online poker allows big stacks to win 80 percent of the hands they play. Any 2 cards.

In my case, I wouldn't play them, I consider myself very bad at bluffing, that's why, somehow, always, until I got to the RIVER, they pressured me, and finally I throw them away, and obviously I lose those chips. really very bad.

Only when I'm big blind with no raise. Even if you hit something with it, chances are, you're beat.

72 off is the worst starting hand in Texas Holdem. 72s is negligibly better.

Thus playing them is pure gambling. You will have better odds playing casino roulette then.

when I first started playing poker, 7 2 was no better or worse for me than other hands, of course I played with them, but now it's clear that in any case it's necessary to fold these cards and not enter into adventures, losing chips, it's calmer, and I noticed that this hand is almost very few times hits the flop, even it seems to me somewhere at the level of 3-5 %

Well, it depends on your luck as it unfolds.
By the way, in my own play history, I don't have a big memory of 72 being successful.

at a distance you will always play 72 down, there are some moments when this hand can be played, for example, you are in the small blind and everyone folded before you and the short stack is in the big blind, sometimes we need to put pressure on it especially if it is a knockout tournament , but there will be few such situations and basically this hand should be folded
