Do I really need HUD or similar software to improve my game?

not really... but most of the HUDs right now has free trial for 30 days.
Depending on the site your playing, you can have around 3~5 months worth of free HUD.

HUDs are very useful! I think the biggest help is identifying your leaks and spots where you lose the most $.
