So I've been playing poker recreationally for about a year. Mostly 1 dollar mtts and micro cash games with the occasional stab out of my small 250 dollar bankroll. I hadn't made a any real money but ive managed to maintain my bankroll. Until yesterday. I managed to win a ticket to a 10k guarantee and place third. Now I'm sitting on 1.25k. I'm not sure how much I should keep as my active bankroll. I love that I had a nice cash but I'm all for slowly moving up bankroll. I like the idea of grinding through the levels to learn.
So I guess my question is how much should I retain as my bankroll? Should I just move up one buy in level and play it safe or move up to a level that is is more relative to my bankroll? I've been taking poker more seriously now and I'm looking for honest advice.
