As a young poker player, I'm always looking for new strategies to improve my game. Recently, I learned about the check-push strategy and I have to say, I'm really impressed with its effectiveness.

For those who don't know, the check-push strategy involves checking your hand on the flop or turn, and then pushing all-in on the river if your opponent checks again. This strategy is particularly effective when you have a strong hand but don't want to scare your opponent away with a large bet.

The first time I tried the check-push strategy, I was a bit nervous. I wasn't sure if it was the right move, but I decided to go for it. I checked my hand on the flop, and my opponent checked as well. I did the same thing on the turn, and my opponent checked again. When the river came, I pushed all-in, and to my surprise, my opponent called.

It turned out that I had a winning hand, and I was able to double up my chip stack. From that moment on, I was hooked on the check-push strategy.

Of course, the check-push strategy isn't foolproof. It requires careful consideration of your opponent's tendencies and betting patterns. But when used correctly, it can be an incredibly effective way to maximize your profits in poker.

If you're a young poker player like me, I highly recommend giving the check-push strategy a try. It might take some practice and careful observation, but I'm confident that it can help take your game to the next level

Interesting article. Where have you found this strategy?

Basically you are hoping for your opponent to be willing to pay a big part of his stack for basically a bluff catch.

Myself, I'd never call here, especially if your stack you're jamming is much higher than the pot before the jam.

But glad to hear it has worked out for you already!

I think this might be exploitable. Sounds like fun though.

I think this move becomes less appealing the deeper the effective stack size.

Over shoves certainly have a place, but if you are doing this frequently against observant opponents you are setting yourself up for a fall.

If I get like a nut hand on the flop, and I check, and on the turn I check, I call that letting the opponent come to me. They will spend money on the river which I will take, but I don't mind taking their money on the turn or flop either.

I generally assume if a person played your style, they got trips on the flop and play accordingly.
