Hi guys and gals, was just looking for some tips on how to build a bankroll? Should I just deposit $15/20 and grind $1.50 sit & gos or should I try the bigger buy ins?
Any advice would be appreciated 👍🏼 Thanks 😊

if there is a deposit with such an amount, then it is better to play an SNG of no more than 0.02 cents, well, or 0.10 cents of no more. and gradually try to grow a bankroll. otherwise, it is inappropriate to violate the rules of bankroll management

Hi, you can also play freerolls and try to build up a bankroll. In that case you do not risk a single cent and have the opportunity to learn a lot about good and bad playing. When you deposit for example $ 15 you should risk about 1% of your bankroll (so you can play $0,10 tournaments). This is called bankroll-management. When you grinding up you can play tournaments with a higher buy-in.

FREEROLLS ? COME ON !!
When was your last time on freeroll final table !?
My advice, try casino you can get some really high bankroll to play poker with, but you need to control when to quit the casino to use money !

It all depends on your money situation. It is really hard to build a bankroll with a small deposit. If you hit tilt or a bad beat you bankroll is done. Maybe deposit $200 with 100% bonus and grind .02 .05 no limit and see how you do.

If you have the possibility to deposit, try to locate an a promotion in the room you play. Most rooms have promotions if it is the first time you log money on it. I advise playing mode in which you feel more comfortable, but always with at least 100 buys in to not run out of bankroll to a bad streak, also do not play down.

Greetings.

50$ is good for starter! grind it up slow and slow, my suggested is SnG 1$ 9 players or 45 players in pokerstars.
Good Luck sir!

I've been trying to build a Bankroll from $0 for some time now and heres what i've learned.
1. In order to grow a bankroll consistently you have to play better than your competion so a good portion of your time should be spent studying.
2. With such a small bankroll a small tilt can make you go busto in a day. Right now i buy in $0.40 on 2 seperate cash tables and cash out at $1. if i bust both tables i stop playing and study for a few hours to make sure im only playing clear minded. (You usually buy in the maximum amount to a table, $2 in my case, but because I started with $0.50 i had to buy in lower). If i win 1 table and lose the other i start fresh with 2 more tables locking in $0.20 profit. I repeat until ive played enough or until i bust both tables. worst case scenario i lose $0.80 and stop playing. If i bust 1 table and run the other table up to $1 then worst case scenario i can only lose $0.60 that session. and so on...
3. Don't let your goal be to make alot of money. Your goal needs to be to get to a level where you play better than your opponents and thats your only mission. You cant let yourself get tempted to play higher buy in games because it can make you more money.
4. It will take a long time. If youre bankroll goes from $20 -$100 in a week you are doing something wrong. Set yourself a goal of making 1 or 2 Buy ins a day. In my case $0.40 - $2 profit in a day is very good. If you make more thats just a bonus, if you lose some stop playing and study.
5. Have fun with it. Celebrate the smalls wins.

Freerolls are actually easier than real tournaments. It's just a completely different game and you have to learn how to play them.

There is no really way to learn How to play freerolls, especially when you loose your AA hand against a noob with 2 7 who decided to go all in as he didnt have to pay for joining !:puke:

You're right the stupid hands that win get really annoying sometimes thats what i meant by its alot different than regular poker. heres a post i made abou the ACR $10 freerolls.

I've played hundreds of the $10 on demands and for the first 100 or so i was never able to even make top 50. Right now i make top 10 an average id say about 2-5 times a week. my best advice would be to limp alot more in the early stages as "raising for isolation" is pointless because it wont isolate anyone. If you get a big hand on your first few hands (1010+, AJ+) just shove all in because you will get callers 80% of the time. Up until average stack is about 4.5K be super aggressive with your top hands and super passive with hands like 78s and just wait till you hit the straight or flush. once theres 80-120 people left then you can start playing regular poker.

Thanks guys, really appreciate all the sound advice! Deposited $15 and playing $1.50 S&Gs. After 5 games I’m at just over $18, but hey it’s a work in progress :)

Yes, you're right. But in addition, you should also play freerolls to rebalance what is removed from the paid games. That way, your style of play to really lucrative, your results.

No need to break the bankroll rule. Otherwise, you will quickly lose money and will replenish the cash register again. For starters, this rule is like a law.

I would prefer to deposit like somewhere around 200$ and try on 3,5$ tables on stars. Of course if you have no experience with sngs you should definitely try the 1.5$.
Hope you have a nice journey !

I don’t know of any reason to break the bankroll management rules. I definitely don’t recommend playing larger stakes. 10 buy ins is playing way too high imo.

I built a roll from $10 to over 40k back in the day. When I first started, I set rules for myself. If I sat down at a cash game and doubled my money, I would stand up. If I continued to play, I would only risk the original amount and bank the rest. If I got stacked, I would quit for the day. I didn’t want to allow the beat to influence me in a negative way.

Setting some rules or limits for yourself will help you build a roll and keep it.

As already mentioned, it is important to follow banking management, test some types of games and see where your performance is best (SnG,cash,MTT)
