Hello,

First post here. Just wondering if anyone has a preferred App to play poker on their phone (not for cash). I am trying to improve my knowledge without playing for real cash yet. I am currently using World Poker Club and while I like the simple graphics I wish it would give me better statistics about my play so that I could see if I am improving.

I will eventually play freeroll games, but I need to get some more time/posts under my belt before I get access the the CC freerolls.

Thanks

Usually there are freerolls on every site available for you to start with. While I'm sure there are some Apps available, I don't think they are going to be much help. I don't think freerolls are much help either.

There is a big disparity in poker games. In play money, no one cares, there is nothing to learn.

In freerolls, people care very little, it is not a good learning tool, but can help you start building a bankroll.

Low micros are just a small steps above freerolls.

My point is that if you are playing for 0.00 that is the quality of play. If you are playing for 10.00 you will find the skill level quite different.

I will say, the cardchat freeroll is very different. I find this a more difficult field than many 5.00-10.00 tournaments. The play is actually pretty good.

If you want to grow as a player, you need to play at a level that your bankroll can support, but also one that challenges you, not just bingo.

Thanks for the advice. I have noticed that many times there will be one or two players at a table in the app I have been using who go all in every round and I will just leave the table. Sometimes you will get a group of "reasonable" players and the game is actually quite fun.

I am considering just opening an account at ACR with a small amount to play in some real games as I have been doing some reading and many people feel this is the way to avoid low quality play. I'll just skip going out to lunch next week to fund my small bankroll. lol

I am still curious if anyone has found an app that they really like though. Being able to open an app and play a few hands is a fun way to kill time if I'm waiting around for something or bored on lunch break.

Friend forget to play on the phone because the cards are low and your eyesight will hurt after a long time and not be able to know their placement in any tournament in progress I indicate you use the cell phone to listen to a good music while playing poker on the computer

I'm all about zynga poker, and on the bright side many of your facebook friends can join in the fun.

Once you hit about 100M chips people actually play pretty decent :p

100M chips is comparable to maybe .25/.50 tables... which is what I played for a year before moving up to .5/1 then 1/2. If you can ride your way to 100M I'd say you're able to play pretty darn good :p

I playing the daily freerolls on juicy stakes mobile right now. They are similar to all the other freerolls i suppose but they are fairly easy those cash a couple a week and from there you can move on to micro games. The software lags on my android a second but you get used to it and adapt.

Freerolls, especially phone apps are horrible for learning poker. Much better off by watching training videos or twitch streams imo!
