I just play sit and go with limited players with buy in of 10%max of my banrolls. So if you have 1000 the max would be 100, if you lost, max would change to 90. That way I believe I have room to improve.

That is way too big slice of your bankroll. Make it more like 2%, so it would make $20 buy in with $1000 bankroll.

1000 dollars - I know people who play NL100 with such a bankroll. It's risky, but possible. Of course, with this bankroll it will not be possible to play many tables at the same time. Recommended - one or two tables, carefully playing for the sake of winrate, and not for rakeback.
