I'm trying to freeroll myself a bankroll, and BRM is something I have looked into from various sources. If you want to make it you have to have some see if rules to minimize losses. I see X# BI for cash, X% for Tourneys, and then there are Satellites. Am I wrong when I consider a satellite like any other tourney and instead of a cash prize you get a seat of value? Most sources say to treat the prize seat values as you would any other tourney, a $50 satellite awards a $250 seat so use the $250 against my BR not the $50. But I look at it as a prize seat and only consider the satellite price. Or are Satellites more a case of "to each their own"?

It's the same, it does't matter the prize. You need to have x times the buy in of whatever you want to play.

So using my $50/$250 satellite scenerio, I want to play in the $250 (even if I can get into it for $50), then I should make sure the $250 is in my buy-in range not the $50? no, the buy in of whatever you want to play.. technically you're playing the satellite....

if you win, you're playing the tournament. if you have 100 bucks and you play a 1 dollar to satty into a 10 dollar, thats cool. (100 buy ins being the standard these days online for mtts) the 1 dollar was in your bankroll.

keep in mind, most sites allow you to turn the ticket into tournament dollars, which can be applied to anything else thats actually within your bankroll... as long as the tournament you sattied into hasn't already started.. then you just.. start and hope for the best...

satties are good when you're down in micro's/freerolls because one win in the bigger tournament can increase your bankroll to get you out of micro's../freerolls

So, you are saying that even though I don't have $100k in the bankroll, if I luck out and freeroll satellite my way into the WSOP for example (3 or 4 steps) I should go for it as a freeroll not affecting the bankroll and NOT that the main event is $10k and totally against my bankroll.

Kind of opposite of what i watched on a vlog the other day where they were saying to treat the "end game" as you would any other buy-in.
