I think it is very hard to carry out and we must study and practice too much and be focused mainly on our game, learn about players lecturs, control of mentality and establish long-term goals to meet them and achieve great goals

Hi Azetav. You have ambitious goals so you need much much work and discipline to achieve them :)...As you said you are a beginner so i would recommend you some standard steps for start according to my opinion:
1)Read articles about poker strategy so you can understand and be familiar with some fundamendal stuff such as position at poker, hand ranges, bankroll managament etc..2)Practise with freeroll or low buy-in tournaments..its better for a beginner to practise with low or any cost than loose money from beginning..
3)participate at forums such as this forum and ask questions about the game or about hands you played (especially tournament hand analysis subforum is very usefull for example).
4)Watch training videos and/or some poker streamers at twitch.
5)Always try to develop your skills and not hide/cover your weakeness..everyone do mistakes especially in poker, and much more in begginer's level.
For sure there are many more stuff you should do and i forget to mention it..but i think these are the basic to start ..Good luck :)

Oh, that's how to ask for advice from the same poker lovers ... better read the literature is very much written and about the gestures of the participants and facial expressions and about mathematics and position and which strategy to apply correctly at different stages of the tournament ... and if the game is for cash Then there are their own mometas ... and it is better to apply this knowledge in practice))

In the end never leave your dreams untested. Just remember that for every person that's ever traveled the road to fame and fortune, it's littered with 1000s that don't make it. The great thing about poker is you can start slow and build over time.

If you want to be a pro, you'll have to put in as much, if not more work than the current pros. Being one of the best at anything is preceded by years of hard work and dedication. It sounds like you're motivated enough to begin down the path.

As far as streamers go, there are some great Poker players out there that stream for your viewing pleasure. Check out the Poker section at twitch.tv.

Takes a lot of work, discipline, dedication and honest self evaluation. I catch myself in all sorts of lies so I will never be a pro.

MGM Grinder 1/3 NL and 1/2 PLO It's no cakewalk...

I now play Poker full time where I left a Government Contractor job that paid well because I knew in my heart I was burned out with answering to people. Right now I'm hustling the 1/3 NL and 1/2 PLO at MGM Grand. I had enough money saved along with a decent bankroll to take the risk. My biggest advice to you is like others have stated put in the time. No book will ever develop your game like experience can at the table. If you are not mentally tough in this game you will tilt and you will lose money long term. Do yourself a favor and install a decent App such as poker tracker and see how you make out for the year. Poker is about the long haul, its very easy to take a bad beat and lose your mental focus. Anyways I'm getting by but to say I'm getting rich at this point would be a pipe dream. I have been playing this game for over 22 years and I still make bad calls from time to time. My final advice to you is when you feel like you can compete at a certain level give it a 2 week test run at the casino. You can play the cards perfect and still lose alot of money during down swings. Its imperative you have the roll to support those times. Best of luck man and if you have any other questions give me a holla.

If you have the bankroll (it usually would need to be considerable) you can do what allmine did and sink or swim. He didn't post what he started with, how good he was, or other details which would translate to the chances of a "new" player succeeding. Usually when people do this they have some considerable experience under their belt. The biggest problem usually is bankroll, I'd bet 99% of the people simply do not start with enough.

If you want to start making a living off poker, for most people it is better to first become a profitable player. This takes care of the bankroll problem. If you are a profitable player, you can slowly play while working a job and increase your bankroll to the necessary amount while saving for living expenses. If you are a profitable player, the amount you are making will intersect with the amount you are making at a job and it will be very obvious that you can and should play full time.

Most people think you should have 100 buyins to play a level. At 1-3 NL the buy in is 300.00. That means you should have 30,000.00 in your bankroll. While depending on your skill level that may be a little high, it wouldn't be by much. If you think you are going to start playing full time with 5k, you are going to have a rough way to go.

I'd take a few thousand and start playing while I had free time, not to pay bills, but to build my bankroll. Give it a few months and see where you are at. If you haven't increased your bankroll considerably, you are setting yourself up to crash and burn playing full time. If you keep growing your bankroll, your well on your way. If not, keep playing for the entertainment.

Over the years I have maintained a 14% ROI. Combined 26% when you figure in cash games and all other forms of Poker. Like others have stated build up a roll slowly and put in the time. I have shifted my focus as of late to Omaha PLO. It's a scary game as far as swings go but you can make a few grand per day if you run well. Where I play they offer PLO games up to 500/1000 on the regular so if your smart with bankroll management you can move up pretty fast. Always keep your Poker funds separate from regular pay as well. If you keep you poker funds in the same account as your bill money trust me it will go kaput over time leaving you back at square one. Best of luck everyone on the felts.

having some 10 years +/- poker experience I can tell you that being a professional player is MUCH harder than most people imagine. Probably, most people imagine that a professional player just plays a pokersite and money comes to him and thats about it. They imagine that the job is so easy it is their dream job.

Well, in reality the job is much, much harder that they think.

But that being said, its not like its impossible. But there definetly are people for whom there are easier jobs than a professional poker player.

If you are going to stream I recommend you either be an attractive woman, or you have a vast knowledge of the game of poker. Most people that watch poker streams want to learn about the game so you need something to offer to those viewers.

My main advice is try to go step by step, otherwise your Dream may become a "Nightmare"

Go to the Poker school in pokerstars or similar sites, read the articles, watch the videos so that you understand the strategies and how to use them.
At the same time be patient and use Bankroll management or you will be broke every time.
Play as much as you can freerolls and Micro Limits to practice without risking much $$$. :deal:

My feelings towards streaming are mixed, I mean poker streams are great but unless you're already a pro making a profitable living off of poker it will be very very hard to get your stream to 1k viewers on average. And if you're not already a pro with all the work that streaming takes I feel you will progress a lot less than if you were to work on your game full time.

But at the end of it do what ever makes you happy and is the most fun, aslong as we are happy and having fun then surely it doesn't matter what we are doing :)
