I am not going all-in pre-flop with either hand, unless I am short stacked and left with very few options. A's are very powerful and have some immediate show-down value without catching any more cards.

We are not concerned with playability if we are all-in, all we care about is winning the hand. Starting off ahead, forces your opponent to catch something. They may catch it or not, but we have no control over that. I rather have a better hand than either of these to put my tournament life on the line, but sometimes, that is just not how it works out.

Good luck and God Bless.

my decision would be KQ they are always very good cards to call in almost all decisions.

The odds calculators are clear - A7 is about 53% to KQ at about 46%.
But, that is simply the odds for those to hands heads up, without considering suitedness, pot size, cash game or tourney, etc, etc, etc.
With KQ, I will see the flop more often than with A7. At least that is what the poker books say I should do.

I like the A7 hand more, but if the stack of about 10 bb remains in the game, then KQ will also go for ollin. Will you be lucky in the fight there or not)))

I prefer A7. Even with A7o vs KQs the odds are 54,2% : 45,8%.
As mentioned already much depends on the game situation. and I made bad experiences with hunting straights and flush.

A7 is more likely to win the flip than KQ

reasonable hands

which hand would you take ?

i would take KQ especially if it is suited

even though A-7 is the "better hand" ....it actually is not the better hand . if you know what i mean

when you hit your ace you have a not that good kicker . when you hit a 7 you can easily be beaten by a higher pair etc

i think that only because A7 vs KQ in an all in situation gives A7 the edge mathematically ....it doesnt mean that it is the better hand in the end

it is hard to explain what i mean lol . what do you think though
are reasonable two hands depending on the tournament you play I would never call allin with A7 EM A buy type tournament over $22 unless my chip stacks are advantageous over my opponent the same thing with KQ is very timing dependent for me pay allin

Of course I will choose A7 (especially suited lol). Only because A7 will win more often than KQ. From A we block up the range and from 7 down. If the KQ gets into the T86 flop, it will be more suitable for A7.

A7 off vs KQ off is about 56% to 43 %
A7 off vs KQ suited is about 53% to 43%
A7 suited vs KQ off is about 59% to 40%
A7 suited vs KQ suited is about 56% to 46%

In those situation A7 always is better, so my choice is A7.

Everyone choose for self a good option.

I choose A7, in an even situation, the odds will be better before the flop

The most important is how you play both hands, as well as your position on the table, I think I would choose A7 because it is the strongest in terms of outs.

Definitely 1 7 has a lot more outputs.
If I had those two options, I wouldn't have chosen the A7 either.
If a lot of players got into the hand for example 6+ he would take KQ.
It all depends on the position and the moment.

I would take both if the bet was small. But I would fold if the bet was high on both too. Both hands are promising, but if the flop doesn't help, there's nothing you can do...

Situational. How deep are you? Position?

Either can be better in different spots.
