Hey, everyone. ‘Need some help on this one:

I know in 6+ Hold Em, it is mathematically more difficult to get trips then make a straight, and A-6-7-8-9 does count as a straight.

For 7+ variants, does the same math ring true if an ace does NOT count as a low card?

I hope you all are having a good day and enjoying yourselves.

Not sure which version of Hold'em you are writing about. 7+ is not in any poker room I know. There are only 6+.

Speaking of 6+ Hold'em, then pokerstars chose a mathematically incorrect model for ranking combinations, because Straight is going more honestly than a set (three cards of the same value).

Thanks for the response. You’re right - more often than not - in 6+, straights are ruled higher than sets even though, mathematically, sets are less common.

The 7+ variants I’ve been interested in are Pinatubo and Manila. I can’t seem to find hand rankings for them anywhere online and was hopeful I could get help figuring out if straights beat sets in these variants since Aces are high cards, only.

At 6+ I didn't adapt to playing with the inverted rules.
