I am assuming that this will be a cash game?

Just to make sure that this is the fixed chip set – are there denominations on the chips? – or have you broken them down this way by colour? Using non standard colours (is there a standard colour for 50?) in order to have more chips at the bottom of the scale is the way to go.

If these are denominated chips, and if you are set on the idea that you will use these denominations, then this is about all you can do:

5-8 players, cash game, 50/100 (assuming cap of approx. 10K):
*Give out every single 50 chip to whoever is starting the table (i.e. you are expecting eight, but the table will start when three are available) - you only have 2.5K worth
*Give out every 100 chip to whoever is starting the table – you only have 10K worth
*Distribute the rest of the chips from lowest denom to larger. You have barely enough chips for eight players. Be prepared for people to ask for change the entire night – perhaps this is an opportunity to teach players about proper “change etiquette” – perhaps not.
*You have plenty of chips for re-buy/top-up

5-8 players, cash game, 100/200 (assuming cap of approx. 20K):
*Same as above starting with 100 and 500 chips. You really are stretched here. You have one hundred chips of the SB denomination, which are the only denomination the same size or smaller than the BB. So, every hand starts with three of them to post blinds and all players on the table holding an average of twelve – not ideal. I guess you could introduce 50X the 50 chips which would represent half of a SB each.:icon_puke
