No cash value

I remembered a funny anecdote I was told in my last trip to Vegas that may be worthy of sharing with you.

I was playing a bounty tournament and the game was unfolding difficult to me. I told the other players at the table I may as well run away with my 50$ bounty, as a joke of course.

The dealer answered me I was not allowed doing so but it was true some people were able pulling it off.

A player at the table added that one of is friend works at another casino and once a hooker came with a tournament chip trying to cash it out at the counter. Apparently her client paid her with a tournament chip and told her she only had to cash it out at the casino.

His friend answered her: "Miss, this is a tournament chip, have you not seen it's written on both side of the chip NO CASH VALUE !"

I though it was funny he could pull that off...

I doubt if the lady thought it was funny...whether you agree with prostitution or not, if she provided a service, she should be compensated...sad story...not funny.

You are maybe right but everybody was laughing at the table. [emoji12]

I was not the one who "screwed her over". At the same time, 1000$ usd /hour, I hope she was still capable paying her bills.

This is why if you accept payment for anything in Vegas and they offer a "casino chip" you should always double check it to make sure it has an actual value.

Before accepting a chip for payment, you should only do it at the poker table or blackjack table...too many fakes out there.

I'm dubious a sex worker in Vegas would fall for that. Seems like a good story to share at the poker table to get a laugh, but it's not an 80's movie out there anymore.
