Unfortunatelly I live in a city where I can't play live but I made a few years ago a lot of experience and I am still going sometimes on live games.
I recognized that in live cash games a lot of gamblers or just awful players were sitting there. What are your experiences on that and where do you think is it most common? Can you expect this in Vegas also as many tourists come to play just for fun?
My examples:
Poker Clubs in Germany
A lot of guys just raising random hands 10bb preflop and getting called by 4-5 players. There are almost everytime at least two realy bad players and that was on 100€ buyins.
Casinos in Germany
A mix of solid players, really good players and some rich people who don't understand the game at all
Poker Club in Budapest
Almost on every table some guy was pushing almost every ace and some guy was calling everything until river with ace high. That was just on 10€ buyins. But on the higher stakes like 200€ they were still pushing the whole stack preflop in bad situations with AJoff.
Cash Game in London
Guys buying in with the minimum and rebuying three times. Some guys calling overpot bet on river on a board where i could have everything (i had a full house) with ace high 8 kicker. There was also good players but every second table had a lot of these guys. I guess newcomer have tough time to realize what they are doing wrong at the beginning.
Zagreb was actually almost everytime filled with solid players but there was one casino where a lot of richer fishes came. I heard the same story with Vienna that there are coming rich guys pushing everything allin and paying you off because their ego don't allow them to get bluffed.
What is your overall experience? I am starting to think that online poker is getting a waste of time when we have these kind of players almost everywhere. Online I saw also big differences on different poker sites where cash game players are just much worse than on for example pokerstars
